STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
MASTERS OF GLOBAL LOGISTICS AND SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT
Being a chemical engineering graduate from Anna university in Tamil Nadu, India and
having been working as a production operator in two reputed companies of India, namely,
“Eco care” and “Hyndai Motors India Ltd”, I have a sound knowledge in the area of global
logistics and supply chain management. I have also worked in project undertakings of
“Removal of CO2 from reforming fuel gas” at Madars Fertilizers Ltd. and has undergone
training in “assembly Assembly and installation of solar energy based photovoltaic power
systems”. During the days of my training and employment in India, I have been subjected to
various logistics tasks and realized the significance of logistics and supply chain management
for a company. I personally believe that Logistics and Supply chain management is one of
the most prolific, promising and intriguing career option as it builds and helps to introspect
major objectives and areas on the perspective of the company as well as the student. In the
context of increasingly competitive global industrialization and market, the companies have
to make sure that they stay abreast, survive and thrive by having a strong supply chain
management in the context of global production capacity and adjustment. I have developed a
new found interest in the area. To enhance my knowledge and brush up my skills, I would
like to enroll in the Master’s Degree programme of Global Logistics and Supply Chain
Management in Northumbria University, London. By studying in the respective university, I
would be able to grasp the basic concepts of logistics and supply chain management with a
global outlook. As I am getting associated with the university, I am expecting to learn more
about different kinds of links that are present in a supply chain and various schemes to make
strategic modifications and changes as required to ensure and enhance continued

competitiveness of the market. I have chosen the respective university since it is reputed
enough and I believe the university would not only provide me with adequate premium
classes and study materials, but also with teaching and guidance of well-qualified professors
and instructors. I am also expecting practical experiences that are given by the institution to
the students which would immensely help me to emerge with a highly practical and
pragmatic understanding of the technical knowhow about management of a complex and/or
complicated supply chain of a particular business in the dynamic world of business and
industrialization. By gaining the Master’s degree certificate on Logistics and Supply chain
management from the respective university, I am eager to seek a full time employment
opportunity of being an integral part of a globally reputed company to gain a reasonable
magnitude of exposure in technical and managerial field. It would help me utilize, enhance
and develop my skills, personal capabilities, knowledge and efficiency that might contribute
to the better functioning and upliftment of the respective organization.
