every organization. Take a case of UNICEF The United Nations Children's Fund. According to
Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals logistic management means it is a part of
supply chain management that plans, implements and controls the efficient, effective forward
and reverse flow and storage of goods, services in a way to meet customer’s requirements. The
infrastructure and logistic management of UNICEF are quite good which is helping UNICEF in
providing the required material, medicine to the needy customer in a different part of the world.
Through it, Supply Chian Management UNICEF is very near to the needy children who need its
support and assistance.
The overcoming recession and Economic impact.
Logistics has become a very important component of gross domestic product GDP and thus
affects the rate of inflation, the rate of interest, energy cost, productivity and its availability and
other aspects of the economy as well. So in a way to overcome the recession from the economy
and avoid the temporary economic decline, managing the logistics is very much needed. So
knowing how to manage the supply chain effectively and efficiently is very much needed as it
will lead to decrease the warehouse and inventory maintenance cost also (Bowersox et al., 2002).
Logistic productivity will lead to improvement in the economy as a whole, efficient
transportation, good infrastructure and cost and time-saving as a final output.
