INTRODUCTION
Logistics can be desired as the process of planning as well as executing the transportation
activities and storage of company good (Murphy and Knemeyer, 2018). Logistics activities are
very important for organisation to perform logistics activity in effective manner so that company
is able to deliver its products to customers. Chosen company for this report is Marks and Spencer
company. This is one of the leading company which is performing its business activities in
activities in retail industry. Major products of this organisation includes ready to wear cloths,
footwear and other fashionable accessories. This report will include different objectives of
logistics strategy. Apart form this SCOR model is determined along with management process as
well as measures of model.
MAIN BODY
Explain the main objectives of logistics strategy
Logistics strategy can be describe as the strategy which is developed in order to improve the
logistic performance of a business. There are different activities which are included in logistics
and it is important for Marks and Spencer organisation to create effective strategies in order to
conduct logistics activities in appropriate manner. The main objectives of developing logistics
strategy is mention below –
Inventory reduction – Marks and Spencer organisation is creating effective logistic
strategies with the motive of reducing the current inventory of business. This objective of
business will help in reducing the cost of business as well as increasing its sales.
Minimum damage of products – The main motive of creating logistic strategy is to
minimize the damage in products of business (Christopher, 2016). By effective and
efficient performance of logistic activities there will be less damage or brakeage of
respective company products.
Quick response – Logistic strategies of respective company is develop by consider the
fast and quick response of customer. Logistic activities of business will help in
identifying and determine the view or feedback of customers on the products of Marks
and Spencer company.

Introduce and explain the SCOR and its management process, model methodology and model
measures.
SCOR model stands for supply chain operation reference model which is one of the
useful model that can be use by organisation in order to conduct its supply chain management
activities (Mangan and Lalwani, 2016). This model is used to improve, address as well as
enhance the communication between supply chain management department in order to enhance
the decision making process as well as improve flow of communication with suppliers and
customers. Management process of SCOR model in mention below -
Management process
Plan – In this supply chain plan is aligned with the financial plan of organisation,
resources are determined as well as business rules are analysed properly.
Source – In this step inventory of business is managed, different raw material is
determined, suppliers are arranged with business and payment is provided to them.
Make – This step of management process include manufacturing of products as well as
stock and other material is provided to production department of respective company for
creating products.
Deliver – It consist of order receipts, processing of order, warehousing deliver process
and along with this management of good inventory for storing of developed products
(Agrawal, Singh, and Murtaza, 2015).
Return – There are different products which are return and at last stage of management
process of SCOR model return of products is made according to the rules of business.

It consist of process elements that is crucial for business.

From the above report it can be concluded that logistics are very crucial part of business and
it is very important for company to conduct logistic activities in effective and efficient manner.
there are various logistics strategies developed by company with the motive of attaining desired
goal of business. SCOR is an effective and useful for model that will help company in managing
its supply chain activities.
