There have been a different number of high profile incidents where youths have been
injured or killed by someone using a Knife as a weapon. In London, knife crime scenes are
increasing heavily which is effecting the lives of local people very much (Holligan, 2015).

Background of the Research: Knife crime is a crime in which victim can be injured,
murdered and disabled. This crime highly effect on community of London which is not good for
the locals who are living in London because it promotes discrimination among people (Pitts,
2017).
Aim: Main aim of this project is:“To investigate the influence of Knife Crime on locals of
London”.
Objectives:
 To understand the scenario of knife crime in London.
 To analyse affect of knife crime on people who are living in London. To investigate the main reason of increasing of Knife Crime in London.

 What are the effects of knife crime on people who are living in London? What are the main reason to the increase in Knife Crime in London?
Rational of research: Main reason behind conducting this project is to identify the
impact of Knife crime on local community (McCandless,Feist, Allan and Morgan, 2016).
Therefore, with the help of research, an investigator easily collect data about the crime in
London. Thus, it is essential for the researcher to overcome this crime.

original work. Main purpose of literature review is demonstrating the author's knowledge
regarding a specific field of research, including theories, vocabulary, key variables and
phenomena and its history and methods. In this section of investigation, research objectives and

Scenario of knife crime in London
According to Bentham, (2018), the knife crime in London has reached to its highest level
in the year 2017. It is almost 15000 offences committed in the year 2017. The data shown here is
horrible to the community of London because it motivates the criminals to expand their feathers.
The national statistics data shows that till the end of June 2017 it was a hike of around 15 % in

best to stop the knife crime in London. If an average is counted almost 40 knife crimes are
carried out per day with 91 knife killing shows the hike of 11% in the crime from last year.
According to the situation the police official should focus on the specific issues which are
there to support the knife crime. The victims should be treated as safe and the assaulter should be
imprisoned and penalised seriously. In overall, effective steps should be taken to stop knife
crimes in London.
Affect of knife crime on people who are living in London.
According to Slawson, (2018), the people who are mostly affected through knife crime in
London are black people. This will create more outrage in the community of London. The people
are in great threat in London specially who are black. The main reason behind the knife crime is
the discrimination among the white and black people. A police officer committed that they are
performing enormous efforts to counter the situation. Apart from that, there are other
communities also which are seriously affected with the knife crime in London such as children,
women and aged group person. All of the categories have less power in comparison to the
assaulter which when attack with full power can harm anyone. The children of school feels
helpless when they are going to school because of the knife crime. The parents of children also
get depressed when their children will get out to school. This is the condition of all the
communities who does not want to involve in the crime. Apart from the community in London,
the affect of knife crime also increases on the business operation in London. People are not
coming out of their home due to the crime which will impact the business of companies to a
great extent. The companies are getting loss due to less number of customers which will also
impact on the economy of the country. Since London is the centre of UK therefore it is necessary
for the companies to have good business in London.

London is drug dealing and social media as per the report by government. But in case of police
of London it is stated that the funding is the main reason of increase in knife crime in London.
Although Social media plays an important role in increasing such activities. People can motivate
themselves in such cases and try to influence others. In case of drug dealing the people can kill

can of other countries or a limited number of person in other state. The other countries will try to
influence the development of one country that is why they impact on other countries to explore
the crime so that the development of UK will stop and they gets developed. For this these
countries can also provide funding to the locals of UK which are performing crimes in the city of
London. Apart from that, a limited number of people in UK can also do this funding because
they require power in their hands that is why they are exploring crime in the city so that negative

The techniques used in research are the collection of data. The collection of data is done
through two ways such as primary data and secondary data (Gormally, 2015). The primary data
is used in this research project because it is collected from a structure of questionnaire which is
done from the respondents. A set of questions is prepared in this type in which questions are
prepared to be close ended so that respondents can answer that question with an ease. The next
one is secondary data in which data is collected through books, journals, magazines etc. All these
have old data which can be used where universal data is required. That is why in this research
method primary data is used.
Data sources:
The data sources is the set in which collection of data is done. The collection of data is
done through two ways such as primary data or secondary data (Graham and McIvor, 2016). In
this research report primary data is collected in which a questionnaire is prepared to check the
respondents. In secondary data, the data is collected from books, magazines and journals which
is known as universal data.
Research Sampling:
A research questionnaire is piloted to the respondents to address the issue highlighted in
objective of research. In research sampling the number of respondents are 30 which are asked
about the questions to take the data (Holligan, 2015). In this step, convenience research approach
is taken into consideration because this approach helps in identifying the potential customers to
the research.
Research ethics:
This is the ethical rules and regulation to complete the research in robust and relevant to
the objective (Taylor and et. al., 2016). The research ethics include informed consent, anonymity
and confidentiality. Informed consent shows that respondents should have enough potential so
that they can meet the objective of research. The anonymity shows that the details of participants

be shown to those who have authenticity to check the research.
Research limitation:
The main research limitation is the time for completion of the work (Kounadi and et. al.,
2015). If work of the project is not done within time than it would be difficult to present the
research because the data collected through respondents gets delayed and will not remain
updated. The researcher has given proper time to collect the data and complete the research. That
is why it has become necessary to the researcher to complete the research with in time.
Research reliability and validity:
The reliability of the research depends upon the questionnaire. The questionnaire should
be short and concise enough so that it will not irritate the respondent (Lugo-Ocando and Faria
Brandão, 2016). This can be done when the questions were close ended which means that they
should be proper to answer in these modes. The questionnaire should be revised in order to
address the issues related with the research. The validity of research also included in
questionnaire. The answers of respondents should be short and concise such as positive, negative
and no response.
Research Budget:
The researcher should complete the research within the specified budget. If the research
is not completed within specified budget than the value of respondents and research will nsot
remain as before (McCandless and et. al., 2016). There will be bad impression of researcher in
the mind of stakeholder when it will not complete the budget within time.

Conclusion:
From the above given data, it can be concluded knife crime is major issue in London and
impacted on locals or community. It is a cruel crime and highly impact on person life, occupation
etc. Knife crime in London is a biggest scenario which is aware by more than half of the
population. One of the major affect of such crime on people as they loss their productive level,
lack of confidence and so on. Along with this, social media is a main reason to increase Knife
crime in London speedily. Therefore, in order to overcome such issue, London Police play vital
role by lunching campaigns to protect an individual with this crime.
Recommendation:
As per the above scenario it can be concluded that the reason behind the increase in knife
crime in London can be social media, drug dealing, discrimination and funding. These are the

main reason in increase in the knife crime in London. As per the above reason in London it can
be concluded that the use of social media should be limited for a specific period of time so that
the accused of the incident will not remain active any more. Since social media plays an
important role in the increment in crime therefore it should have been stopped for a specific
period of time to secure the future of London. Apart from that, the police officials of London
should pay attention on the drug dealing so that any exchange of drug will not result in more
knife crime. The report said that drug dealing is also an important reason while increasing the
knife crime in London. The police official should try to use their intelligence officer so that they
can identify the main issue related to increase in knife crime in London. The funding of
increasing the knife crime should have been stopped. The funding can come out of country or
within the UK. This information can be identifies by the intelligence officer in UK. The main
recommendation is that government of London should motivate the people to stop the knife
crime and help in maintaining the peace. The people of London should understand the value of
