A Short Story on
The Lost Gold Treasure
This is a story of a twelve-year boy Smith, who lives with his Grandparents near the
valley of White Mountains, New Hampshire. His Grandfather (Stephen) was a historian and an
archaeologist and loves to explore the unexplored things. Smith was in his grandparents’ house
for his summer vacations when he got a book written by his grandfather about The Red Indians
and their lost treasure. William use to tell Smith about the history of native Americans and their
glorious past. Ancestors of native Americans known as Red Indians, came in United States
around 15,00 years ago and after the invasion of European colonization of Americans in the year
1492, population of these Red Indians decreased. While Smith was going through the history he
got a note written by his grandfather who was presently not alive. In his note it was written “Hey
grandson, if you have got this note than you are young enough for solving my riddle in order to
reach to the Lost Gold Treasure of Red Indians.”
Meanwhile Smith was reading this grandfather’s notes his grandmother Stela arrived.
Hey Smith! are you awaken till now it is quite late go to sleep. Okay grandma. Although Smith
was sleeping but he was very curious about his grandfather’s note. Next morning, Smith woke up
and he was checking whether the last night activity was a dream or reality. Than Smith ran to his
grandfather’s study room and he finds the same note. He was very happy to know that the story
of Red Indians was not a dream it was reality. He was very excited to tell all this thing to his
grandmother but he was afraid at the same time thinking that his grandmother doesn’t want to
lose Smith as she lost her husband.
Smith step back and thought for a second whether to tell all these things to his
grandmother or not. Meanwhile he was searching for the next clue as he was not getting any
things so he dashes the table and Grandfather’s old pen stand just fall down and Smith suddenly
noticed that something is written in the bottom of the pen stand. He took out his magnifier try to
read what it was written. Stephen was a great fan of William Shakespeare and in the bottom of
the pen stand a famous quote was written “Stars, hide your fires; Let not light see my black
and deep desires.” Line from “Macbeth.” Bravo! This was the first clue. Smith tried to find
out the hidden meaning and then suddenly he was strike with word “no light” and started
thinking of no light and it was store room. Smith rash to store room and searching for another

clue and meanwhile looking for the same he found an old wooden box and inside the box a map
was there for reaching old treasure of Red Indians.
