Introduction
The managing and coordination of construction is helpful and it entails management of resources
in appropriate way so that an efficient operation can be achieved. A low-rise building is taken to
mean any occupiable building dived at unvarying breaks into occupiable levels which are lesser
than a high rise.
Site evaluation
Before the construction of a low rise building, there is a need for conducting site evaluation to
ensure the building is erected in a suitable location. Site evaluation needs to be a carried out with
a specialist to ensure that the requirements for the site are defined properly and the site selected
meets the demand or requirements with minimal risk to the client. In order to come up with a
good site evaluation, there is need to prepare a statement of objectives and also preparing a
specification for the site to be evaluated (Atkinson, 2013, p. `159).
Excavation
The excavation of the construction site involves moving the rock, earth or other materials with
tools and equipment. And it entails trenching, earthwork or explosives. Excavation of low rise
buildings helps in creating foundations and some of the different processes used in exaction

waterproofing are cementitious materials, bituminous material or polyurethane liquid membrane.
Floor
A floor forms the lowest exterior of the room and in modern buildings, the subfloor often has
services such as water system, electrical cabling and plumbing. In low rise building, the
materials selected for covering the floor is affected by issues for instance; price, protection from
noise, luxury, and strength. The building of floors can also take place on joists or beams or using
prefabricated hollow core slabs.
Walls
Masonry walls are heavy and require lots of skilled labor. The weight of the building makes it
necessary to place beams designed to carry that particular weight. Other materials that are good
for low rise building include stone or ceramic bricks. The interior walls made using bricks helps
in adjusting the temperature buildings, it is durable and reduces the risks of cracking (Fisher,
2012, p. 48).
Roof
All buildings are covered using a roof making it the uppermost part of the building. The
buildings’ roof helps in providing protection against weather and also animals. The roofing of

low rise buildings differs from region to region and they depend on climate as well as an outer
covering. The type of roofing which can be used in low rise construction is metal roofing which
are made using zinc, copper and steel alloy and can last up to 100 years.
Flooting
The concept of flooting simply describes the time period that an activity or event can be overdue
despite adjourning the full accomplishment of the project. Through the subtraction of time
required to carry out the task from time needed to complete it, helps in calculating the float.
Identification of float can be helpful during resource allocation whereby activities having less
float available is given primacy. (Stanley, 2012, p. 66).

To ensure a successful construction is achieved, there are certain activities that need to be put in
order so that quality work can be achieved for example, evaluation of site needs to be done
thoroughly to ensure a good site is acquired which can support the construction of low rise
