INTRODUCTION
Ethics, Sustainability and Social Impact refers to the various types of approaches which
are taken in order to ensure that the creation of a better society can be done in a right manner
effectively and efficiently (Croom and et.al., 2018). This can be helpful in ensuring that the
attainment of the overall goals and objectives in the short-term, medium-term and long-term can
be done effectively and efficiently. It is important for the organizations of different countries that
they pay proper attention towards these aspects which will be quite helpful in the future. In this
report, there will be detailed focus on defining and discussing of Circular Economy, choosing a
city in developing Commonwealth Country, proposing of the actions which can be taken by the
companies and local government. Additionally, report for Commonwealth Local Government
Ministers Meeting on key and recommendations will be discusses as a part of this project.
MAIN BODY
Task 1
A Circular Economy refers to a type of Economic System in which there is a particular
aim of ensuring that the elimination of waste can be done and the continuous use of the various
types of resources can be made (Powell, Gillett and Doherty, 2019). In a Circular Economy,
there is an use of the following-
Use- This means making the best use of the products and the resources which are
available in the society. For the purpose of making an optimal use it becomes quite essential that
the use of appropriate methods and techniques is made which will be helpful in raising the
overall efficiency and effectiveness.
Reuse- This refers to ensuring that the reuse of the different types of products and
resources can be made. This will be helpful in ensuring that this does not harms the environment.
Thus in this way the better management of the products and resources can be done effectively
and efficiently.
Remake- This means remaking the products according to the needs and requirements.
This is required so that the right actions are taken in order to ensure that the products can be
manufactured with the use of the available resources by making their optimum use. This will be
quite helpful for the society as the use of its resources will be made in the right manner.

Recycle- This refers to recycling the products so that the appropriate use of the resources
can be made and therefore the harm which is caused to the environment by the human beings can
be reduced to a certain extent in the right manner. This will be highly helpful in ensuring that the
products can be recycled and provided to the customers in a proper manner which will be
therefore quite helpful in ensuring that the optimization of the available resources is made.
Make- This refers to the way in which the different types of products can be provided to
the customers in the right manner. In this way, this can help the companies in ensuring that they
can provide the best products to the customers in the right manner through the use of the
available resources.
The use of various types of philosophies can be made so that the concept of Circular
Economy can be understood in a better manner. The following philosophies can be used for this
particular purpose-
Cradle to Cradle approach- Cradle to Cradle i.e. C2C refers to seeing garbage as an
external resource and therefore ensuring that the appropriate actions are taken right from the
beginning (Quarshie, Salmi and Leuschner, 2016). This approach states that the use of the
resources has to be made effectively and in a a cyclical way so that the best use of these
resources is made which will not only benefit the society but will also benefit the community.
This approach states that the use of the society's resources must be made properly in the
production of a wide scale of goods because this can be quite helpful in ensuring that the
maximization of the overall level of efficiency and effectiveness through their use must be made
which will be helpful in the attainment of the overall goals and objectives in the right way.
Blue Economy Systems approach- Blue Economy Systems approach refers to a
particular concept in which the promotion of the economic growth, social inclusion and
preservation of the livelihoods can be done by also ensuring environmental sustainability (Rizzi,
Pellegrini and Battaglia, 2018). Therefore it is a particular approach which can be quite helpful
in ensuring that a higher-level of economic growth and development can be targeted so that the
environmental sustainability can be maintained in the right manner.
The transition into a Blue Economy is dependent on the consideration of the wide variety
of variables. By considering them, the overall level of growth and development can be ensured in
a right manner effectively and efficiently. This will be helpful in leading towards a higher-level
of efficiency and effectiveness. By transitioning into a Blue Economy, the better care of the

oceans and other marine resources can be kept which will lead towards ensuring that the harm
which is being caused to the environment can be reduced.
Thus, it can be said that the concept of Circular Economy is related with the philosophies
of Cradle to Cradle approach and Blue Economy Systems approach. It is so because according to
the Cradle to Cradle approach a cyclical use of the various types of resources can be done in the
right manner. This helps in ensuring that the resources are able to rotate in a particular cycle and
therefore the maximization of the use of these resources can be made effectively and efficiently.
Also as per the Blue Economy Systems approach, the use of resources can be made in a better
manner by ensuring that a sustainable economy can be created. This will be highly helpful in
ensuring that the management of the earth's resources is done appropriately so that the
preservation of these resources can be done which will ensure sustainable development in the
future and will contribute towards the maximization of the potential of the resources in a better
manner.
Task 2 (a)
A circular economy is one of effective strategy that applied by the different nations in
their city for no wastages and pollution and design or intention. It keeps products, parts and
material as per the greatest use and value at all the times. It provides a sustainable options to
current linear economy. It is one that utilise for the dispose of items, parts as well as materials.
This economy also uses for fewer new resources as well as energy that means reduce coat of
atmosphere. It is not only about the production and consumption of good services but also
means shifting from fussil fuels to renewable energy sources. This economy playing essential
role in the development of city of London which is part of common wealth country of United
Kingdom. Indeed, some of its innovator have said that look again at the way where require to

Circular economy is defined as situation or systematic approach which is designed by
government for benefits of society, businesses, and environment. As environment is changing
day by day where it is important to understand the new changes and implement in their
organization or country to make it strong. In other words, take-make-waste is a linear model is
related to circular economy which use to make the strong economy by reducing wastes As
environment is changing where people is becoming more health conscious and they are
demanding better quality of food and services which can help to attracts the large number of
customers and maintain clean and effective environment (Ferasso and et.al., 2020). The chosen
city is London where government formulate different regulations to remove the wastages and

pollution. It has been seen that local and international companies are operating their business by
following the principle and strategies which are followed by government to attaining the ethics
and sustainability. For example, Unilever is multinational brand that operate its business at local
as well as international level by offering variety of products and services. This also follows the
principle of minimum wastes, less use of plastics, reducing pollution, and other principles which
are beneficial for the organization as well as country. This can help to increase the business
productivity and profitability by managing all functions and providing better quality of products
and services.
In London, aim of circular economy is to redefine growth, focusing on positive society
wide benefits which can help to develop the economical condition of local and international
company. This is based on three principles such as design out waste and pollution, keep products
and material in use, and regenerating natural system. By using design out waste and pollution
principle all individual and business concern mainly focuses on reducing the wastes and
pollution from the manufacturing and selling process which can help to attracts the large number
of people and attain higher profitability. This can be helpful for companies to analysis all
functions and perform it well (Geng, Sarkis and Bleischwitz, 2019). The second principle is
keeping products and material in use that means all products and raw material of organization is
require to be use optimally which can help to remove the wasting procedure and increase the
business performance in competitive environment.. The management of the organization also
require to keep record of all material and products which can help to placing the order again and
managing demand and supply effectively. On the other hand regenerating natural system is the
continuous process in which juvenile plants and coppice have established naturally and replacing
plants which have died that can help to manage the all functions and activities properly. In UK,
to support the Circular economy government is formulating regulation such as reducing input of
resources, reducing emission level, creating local and international level for skill set individuals,
increasing input of renewable and recycled resources, and reducing material losses or waste
which can help to develop the sustainability in the environment (Keijer, Bakker and Slootweg,
2019).
Task 4
In London UK, Commonwealth heads of Government met in United Kingdom, where it
has discussed that common wealth can contribute to the future of the economy, more

sustainable , secure and prosperous by following the ethical standard and focusing on economic
policies. As all people are contributing in raising international awareness and offering the variety
of services which can help to make the strong the country. This proud on history where laws are
formulated for the welfare of country and residing people as they increase their living of standard
and maintain sustainability (Recommendation by UK's local government, 2021). This protect and
promote demographic principles, human rights, promoting peace, security, and also strengthen
good governance. Heads of commonwealth ratify and implement the convention on elimination
of discrimination against women, and provide the gender equality that improved the living
standard of people and manage all functions and provide them good job opportunities. To
maintaining ethical standard all local and international businesses has started to provide
opportunity to women who contribute to develop their family situation as well as country's
economical condition. Heads of London also encouraged by taking continuous action in relation
to commonwealth bodies and member countries which can help to prevent and eliminate the
sexual based violence, child, and forced marriage. In other words, commonwealth playing an
important role in developing economical growth, and sustaining in competitive environment by
reducing disability, providing equality to male and female, supporting good governance, and
sharing innovation in different area which can help to attain the country's goals (Schroeder,
Anggraeni and Weber, 2019).
Thus, it has recommended to London city to focus on commonwealth at local and
international level by giving the opportunities to all male and female which can help to manage
the all functions and develop the economical condition. In this, people from different cities,
country and culture participate in different activity and contributing to managing strong economy
which can help to develop the condition. Government of London should be follow all regulations
and laws which are formulated by top authorities for the purpose of welfare of society and
attaining the decided goals. Thu, it can help to make sustainable country in changing
environment (Kumar and et.al., 2019).
CONCLUSION
From the report it can be concluded that businesses whether local and international are
facing the challenges of lower productivity due to not following ethical standard. Non business
activities like NGO, government and others are affected negatively due to increasing wastes,
pollution, and unethical activities. People require to increase their awareness regarding effect of

plastics and increasing pollution so that right action can be taken by government. Circular
economy theories should be followed to manage the all activities. By focusing on needs and
following standard barriers can be overcome. Local and international companies supporting
development of circular economy which can help to develop the sustainability.
