Personal statement

The London school of hygiene and tropical medicine is a renowned research-led postgraduate
medical school. The university was established in 1899 A.D. I wish to study for the public health
programme in London school of hygiene and tropical medicine because people in many
countries or regions are not aware about the health concerns and suffering from health issues. I
am willing to contribute my efforts to the society by gaining some knowledge and necessary
information from the study. The main reason to select this study is because the public health
course stated that “to contribute to the improvement of global health through the pursuit of
excellence in research”. This has been raise my personal interest in this course. Another reason is
the teaching faculties that I believe will lead me towards build specific knowledge, skills and
understanding that made me able to contribute to the society. The faculty of public health and
policy aims to improve global health through research, teaching and the provision of advice in
the areas of health policy, social and environmental influences on health, health system and
services, interest and activities embrace the health needs of people living in countries.
As I mentioned in the objective section, this study enable my personal skills and interest
to the next extent and will allow me to explore myself. In the context of my qualification I have
done post graduate diploma in quality assurance and quality control and in Forensic science and
genetic engineering from the Global Institute of Biotechnology.
The public health course covers the whole breadth of public health that focuses on five or
more streams. My current skills and experience will help me in focusing on the course and bring
the best outcome. Strong work ethic is the base of the public health and it will help in making my
career in this specific field in the future. I am currently working at Weill Cornell Medical
College, Doha, Qatar as Clinical Research coordinator. I have been joined there from 2014 and
learned a lot from there. The job raises my interest in health care and I developed my mindset to
take admission in this university. Before the medical college, I was at Hamad Medical
Corporation as laboratory technician from 2012 to 2014.
My skills includes; strong work ethics, honest and integrity, analytical and problem
solving, have excellent communication skills and I am able to provide attention to details. The
skills build up with the time and experience gain from various professions. The course of public
health required various skills in an individual that help in study different subjects under the
public health course. The experience gain from various jobs will assist me to carry out the

current responsibilities. I understand that some skills are required to improve or develop to get fit
in this course and I will ensure that I'll develop my skills efficiently.
