From the presentation, it is evident that being the giant in global retail industry, Lulu
hypermarket is highly committed towards offering the customers with innovative and
superior quality of products and thereby keeping the staffs happy and satisfied. However, as
the degree of competition in the retail industry is rapidly increasing, the firm should put stress
on introducing new product line in order to attract wide ranges of customers. From the PEST
analysis of Lulu hypermarket, it can be said that high income level and inflation rate are
influencing the buying pattern of customers. However, increased price of raw materials like
fuel, gas, electricity and food are affecting the pricing strategy of Lulu group. The
contemporary trend is largely affecting both the cooking and eating habit of people. Still,
advancement of technology is paving the way for Lulu hypermarket to manufacture
innovative products and manage its flow smoothly throughout the world. The competitive
landscape of UAE retail industry is extremely high due to the inclusion of retail giants like
Landmark Group, Aitken Spence Travels Ltd, Aristotle Corp, Charlie's Produce and The
Class Produce Group. Thus, it is important for the company to follow product development
and diversification strategy and launch new products for the sake of attracting wide ranges of
customers.
