Analysis of the article
Lungs cancer is takes place inside the body because of the unbridled growth of the tissues of
the lungs. It can also spread throughout the body after sometime. The most common
symptoms of this disease are coughing and persistent cough with bleeding, chest pain, sudden
loss of appetite and weight, shortness of breathing and weakness are the major symptoms of
lungs cancer (NCBI, 2019).
Major causes of Lungs cancer
Excessive and constant exposure to carbon, smoke and other harmful gases will leads towards
the lungs cancer. Smoking with cigarettes, using tobacco, regular contact with diesel fumes
and other harmful gases are also the major cause of lungs cancer (NCBI, 2019).
Types of lungs cancer
There are majorly two types of lungs cancer exists:
(1) Small cell lungs cancer

(2) Non-small cell lungs cancer
Only 15 to 20% of the lungs cancers are found in type of small cell lungs cancer.
Smoking is the only cause of small cell lungs cancer. This is a very rare type of cancer.
In most of the cases, people are diagnosed with non-small cell lungs cancer. Around 80 to
85% cases of the lungs cancer are diagnosed with non-small cell lungs cancer. This is a
very common type of cancer and caused by constant inhalation of gases with large carbon
content (Institute, 2020).

Major risk factors of non-small cell lungs cancer
Regular smoking using cigarettes, cigars and exposure to harmful metals like asbestos,
chromium, arsenic, chromium and nickel are the major risk factors for developing non-small
cell lungs cancer. Being exposed to radiation is also the major cause of non-small cell lungs
cancer (Preventions, 2020).
Different stages of lungs cancer
There are stage 1, stage 2, stage 3, stage 3(a), stage 3(b) and stage 4 are exists. According to
the spread of the cancer cells, these stages are developed. At the initial level of stages, the

lungs cancer can be treatable but at the later stage it is very difficult and risky to treat the
lungs cancer (Institute, 2020).

Methods for reducing the risk of lungs cancer
 People should not smoke because regular and excessive smoking is the major cause of
developing lungs cancer.
 People should also avoid passive smoking and make a distance for those who are
using cigarettes and other smoking tools.
 People should start to take healthy diet and doing physical exercise on a daily bases.
 Small level of clod and cough should not be avoided by general public.
 People should receive the timely advice of physicians and should receive regular
health check-ups in order to remain healthy and stress free (Charles S. Dela Cruz,
2011).

On the bases of the above analysis it can be said that lungs cancer is one of the harmful
disease because it can-not be curable till now, it is only treatable. Major risk factors are
responsible for developing this life taking disease among the people of the society. However
a lot of effective treatments are available to stop the growth of cancer cells but people should
take precautions for not developing the risk of lungs cancer. Precautions are required for
maintaining a sound health for the public by eliminating the risk factors of lungs cancer.
