Conclusion
This paper discusses the factors behind failure of project of Lungmen nuclear power
plant and how these factors could be rectified in any other project for making that project
successful. . Project of Lungmen nuclear power plant due to social impact, cost and politics,
the power plant was never completed. One of the reasons for failure of the project was
Taiwan could not accurately perform scheduling process. This became a main reason that
much more time being taken to complete operational process [1]. The overall budget for the
project was also affected in negative manner due to project schedule’s improper estimation.
The risks within the project were supposed to be identified. However, while processing of
project, several risks were identified which were not supposed to take place, which lead to
mitigation processes’ improper implementation. Cost management was also an essential
factor for the project. For the project of power plant, cost management played an essential
role for evaluating the performance of this project [2].
All these factors results in success or failure of a project. Appropriate time
management should be maintained in a project. Stakeholders of project is also essential and
schedule of the project should be maintained to maintain scope of project. Cost planning of
project is also an essential estimator for keeping process of project right and adjust budget of
the project for meeting the reality. Risks within a project should be considered as well, as
they could become the cause for failure of project. Appropriate initial procurement agreement
should be done with contractor and no confusion should be there among the parties with
respect to final service or product. All these factors should be followed properly for making a
project successful.
