Project Overview:
The Lyl construction project is running behind the schedule. It faces problem in the
completion of project within the scheduled time. It is required to develop the change
management plan so that project can be completed with the project expected scheduled time
line and cost.
Change management is integral part and component of project management
Integration of change management program depends on the monitoring and control process
used for measuring the performance of the Lyl construction project. Change management is
comprised of three processes which are named as monitoring risks, controlling cost, and
controlling schedule. Change control is used for changing the configuration of the work
(Anderson, 2015). Change request is approved after the monitoring process so that overall
functionality and end output should meet the project objectives.
Change management processes and strategies
Change management process is comprised of monitoring and controlling of the Lyl
construction project activities so that outcome should meet the project objectives and
mission.
Monitoring and controlling processes: Work performance information is used for monitoring
and controlling the processes which defines the correctness of deliverables.
Monitor and control project work: Work breakdown structure is used for monitoring and
controlling the project work (Badewi, 2015).
Perform integrated change control: Integration of the change control and approval of the
change request depends on the output of monitoring process (Hornstein, 2015).
Validate scope: Validation and verification of the scope helps in identifying the difference in
the actual work done and estimated work done. Change control policies are designed for
minimizing the gap and difference which exist between the actual and estimated work done.
Variance in the end output can be resolved by validating the scope.
Control scope: Scope can be controlled by defining the change request so that required action
plan and schedule can be prepared accordingly.

Control schedule: Start date and end date of the change request completion process is defined
in control schedule which is prepared for implementation of change management plan.
Cost control: It is required to integrate cost with the change control activities so that
implementation of change can be done under budget (Heldman, 2017).
Risk control: Identification of risks is the basic necessity for the successful completion of the
project. It is required to identify the risks associated with the control plan so that proactive
action plan can be prepared for controlling the risks.
Control change request on project: Designing and implementation of the change request and
control should be done in the direction of minimizing the gap and difference which exist
between the actual and estimated work done.
Tools and techniques used for tracking project
There are various tools and technique used for tracking project. Some of them are described
below:
 Gantt chart: The Gantt chart is used for tracking the completion of the activities
within the given timeline.
 Pert Chart: PERT chart is used for reviewing the work completion within the
minimum time required.
 Network Diagram: Network diagram shows the series of activities which is developed
for identifying the dependencies on the project timeline.
 Critical Path: Critical path is used for identifying the critical activities which should
be completed before the non-critical activities (Project Management Institute, 2013).
 Work Breakdown structure: Work breakdown structure is developed by dividing the
project goal in sub-phases. The output of each phase should comply with the end
outcome of the project development plan.

Use of tools and techniques for managing change
Tools and techniques are used for identifying and managing required changes in meeting the
project objectives. Tool and techniques are applied for managing change in the following
ways:
Dependency of project execution on project assets: Change management plan helps in
identifying the requirement of the assets for completing the change control plan.
Change Management review: Reviewing of the change management process implemented on
the Lyl construction schedule helps in identifying the work performance so that required
objective of change plan should meet.
Validation and control of project scope: It is required to verify and validate the outcome of
change management plan with the project scope.
Scope change management techniques: Changes in the project scope of Lyl construction
schedule should be done after validating the difference in the expected and the actual
outcome of the project.
Planning contributes to project execution and control: Change control planning principles
should be followed for the project execution and control.
Changes in project and managing them: The tools and techniques are used for minimizing the
gap and difference which exist between the actual and estimated work done (Heldman, 2017).
Impact of change on project team: Skills and expertise of the project team members can be
enhanced by deploying the change management plan because specific training program is
required for them to handle the project change.
