Dear Student,
Now that you are enrolled onto the MBA (top-up), you are required to submit a summary research
proposal to your supervisor for approval before you can proceed. Please read the guidance below
and complete the template for submission to your supervisor.
You have completed a research proposal as part of the OTHM Level 7 Diploma is Strategic
Management Leadership and you may decide to use this as a basis for your Consultancy Project.
Whether or not you decide to do so or start afresh, you are required to submit a summary proposal of
approximately 500 words (+/- 10%), which must be approved by your supervisor and comply with the
University of Chichester ethical guidelines.
Although this is not a long document, serious thought should be given to the content. A good project
proposal will save hours of work during the programme as it will develop initial focus for your project
report.
Your project proposal will be reviewed by your Supervisor prior to you commencing week 1 of the VLE
programme. It is at the discretion of your Supervisor as to when the proposal is fit for purpose and
your enrolment can be completed.
We advise you to have most of this in place (as an initial draft) prior to the induction week so you can
commence on time – that will allow you to take part in the workshop (webinar) sessions as opposed to
catching up.
 Your Project Proposal must be sent to your supervisor within two weeks from the date of your
enrolment letter.

 Your Project Proposal MUST be signed off by your supervisor before you can be
registered with the University of Chichester.

Background

I am an executive manager in the customer service and sales department of galaxy Macau, one of
the world's leading resorts, hotel and gaming companies. we have over 160 staffs in the team with
the average 95 team members running for the daily operation.
The team is mainly focus on serving the high tier gaming players while playing at all the Premium
Mass areas. there are 4 exclusive areas with over 100 gaming tables usually drive 49% of the total
profit mergin. besides, we also have the KPIs need to be achieved on monthly basis, such as
hunting new potenial player, referral new potenial player, offering complimenary rooms and upsale
the promotions and events.
We discovered that lots of the team members made use of their total sick leave days for other
proposes, such as taking care of their family, take a sick leave with their regular day off instead of
using their annual leaves.

In case of finding the solution for the particular situation, I will also review different jotrnald and
articles. From the internet, i will review some of the companies, which are dealing withg the same
kind of situation and crtcically analyze the strtegic decisions that have been taken by them for
getting the strong idea on the particualr situation. The internet sources will be the authentic
company official websites and only the peer reviewed articles and journals will be used for getting
the idea.

Aim and objectives

The Aim is to reduce 20% of the total team member sick leave days in 2020. The proposal will also
focus on critically analyzing the responsible factors those influence leave taking tendency of the
employees. Here, I have provided some recommendations that can help the managing wuthority in
Galaxy Macau Company to reduce the leave taking tendency among the employees.
To reduce the rate of sick leave atleast 20% within 2020.
To focus on increasing the employee enaggement rate for improving the productivity rate.
To identify the factors which are responsioble for making the employees irregular in the workplace
To provide some mesurable recommendation for reducing the tendency among the employeees.

1. After the roster come out, offer some of the available days for team member to apply annual
leave
2. Offer team member to take annual leave when they call-in to report sick and who does not have
any entitle sick leave left.
3. Propose the entitlement of sick leave days can be transferred to aunnual leave for the next year
to encourage team member in order to reduce the sick leave percentage.
4. While collecting the information books have been used. I will reard some books like business
research methods by Quinian , Christina, Barry Babin, Jon Caarr and Mitch Griffin. I have also
reviewed Research Methods for Business Students by Mark Saunders.
Data Collection Approach

In this paericular reserqach paper, deductive research approach will be beneficial as the resercaher
will use existing models and theories. In case of managing the report, doccument and records will
be analyzed where the sick report of individuals will be collected by me. I believe, In this case,
primary sources will be sufficient for collecting the statistical information related to the sick leaves on
each of the employees. While collecting the information, I will try to maintain my efficiency so that
the report will not get changed. maintaining the leave report from the individuals' portal, the
information related to the negative and positive leave balances will be clear to me. I will personally
talk with the employees for undersyading theor point of view in the particular situation.
Data Analysis Approach / Method

In case of analyzing the information, the collected statistical values will be transformed into the
numerical form that can help to understad the annual amount of sick leave rate in the organizaytion.
After collecting the internal data, the doccument will be analyzed and categorized by comparing the
leave taking tencies of both the new and old employees. On the other haand, aalyzing the
ssecondary information themetic analysis technique can be used.

In order to address the ethical matters I will try to maintin the transparency while preparing the skick
leave repory of the emplpyees and the report will be recheaked by me coordinate. I will not force
