1ETHICAL DILEMMA
Response to question 1: Code of ethics and values
The company in which I have been working for my summer internship is known for its
ethical activities widely. Their values are to satisfy the customers need while maintaining
integrity, responsibility towards society, and maintaining group unity. Their code of ethics
involved restrictions against carrying out any unethical practices and they took disciplinary
actions in case of any such practices (Leipziger 2017). It is considered as a good company
because the company maintains its integrity in all situations. Their code of conduct included their
commitment to the stakeholders and to the society in which they existed and that is what guides
them in their decisions when they are faced with some ethical issues or dilemmas.
Response to question 2: MacDonald method to analyze situation and Reasons
for the MacDonald method
Chris Mac Donald’s methods of resolving the ethical dilemmas are used (Radio-
television and Telecommunications Commission 2018). This is so because he has been a
consultant and has given many theories related to conflict of interest, developing owns code of
ethics and various other ethical issues. He has explained how people who are in an ethical
dilemma will solve any such issues in his guide to moral decision making such. It includes many
steps such as- recognizing the dimensions, identifying the parties involved, identifying the values
involved, and weighing the burdens and the benefits of both the sides and many others. These are
some of the main reasons why his model is chosen for solving various ethical issues and
analyzing scenarios. In case of the case study, Mandy will have to prepare a report after
analyzing all the facts and she should also consider if she agrees with the conclusion she has
arrived at that is it should not be against her own values.

Response to question 3: Conflict of interest
A conflict of interest is a situation where there is more than one interest involved of the
parties concerned and the interests are mostly opposing in nature (Wallace and Sheldon 2015). I
have been faced with a situation in which such conflicting interest arose. we were carrying out
group activities when some of the people of the group were engaging in some unethical activities
and through the performance of the group was improving but there were many among us who
were not happy with the ways in which the activities were carried on in such a situation we
applied the Mac Donald model to solve the dilemma and reach an agreement.
