Personal Statement
This writing is intending to communicate my professional aspirations in the field of Master
Degree Programme within the computer science field. Here, I am applying to computer
science Master Degree Programme (MDP) and strongly hoping to learn topics related to
machine learning (ML). Thus, my personal statement will help the readers to get my reasons
as well as inspirations towards learning ML with the help of studying MDP in computer
science.
As I do not want to change this world but I want to bring a revolution in the way we interact
with the world thus I chose the field of machine learning as it is the best way to achieve the
above. Every day when I wake up and the new day starts I challenge myself for imagining
innovative possible solutions to the real-world problems as well as create them through
generating new codes of programming. I also developed many computer science projects that
will eventually affect our societal lifestyle and hence help us for living a better life in the
future. Here, I must say that my journey within computer science discipline actually began in
school. This is because I learned all programming basics along with the general problem-
solving there only. I chose ML to pursue within my MDP because I have enjoyed doing
mathematics and logical reasoning hence writing complex computer programs swiftly
became my passion and favourite activity as well.
In this context, I really remember the great feeling I got while using computers during my
school days. Although I was aware of the fact that a computer can help human work, yet I
never thought that an intelligent machine could act like a human. I also realized it many times
that computer acts cleverer when it interacts with human and always win. Coming to the main
point, I chose computer science (CS) stream as I was fascinated by how this field’s
innovation has bettered society's lives while contributing seemingly impossible revolutions
and inventions. Therefore, I hoped that someday I will also contribute my dedicated efforts to
these IT-oriented changes and innovations. Subsequently, this hope has transformed into my
passion for computer science studies and here I want to pursue a Master’s Degree Programme
while learning ML as my core subject.
I would like to mention that in order to build up my knowledge base in CS especially in ML
and to strengthen it; I have taken all the value-added courses of my subject and related

subjects which were offered by the University (University Name). For example, interesting
concepts such as cryptography, deep learning, data mining, optimization, ANN, genetic
algorithm, cognitive learning along with probability have been learned by me. In this way,
while studying these concepts, I have grown up as a more algorithmic way of thinking and
hence discovered many parallels amid formal proofs as well as well-written programs.
Apart from this, pursuing MDP in ML will allow me to explore more topics into which I am
interested like Computer Vision, and Software Development for AI enabled machines and
many more. The research conducted by the University into ML also attracts me towards
getting expose to practical real-life problems, instead of always focusing on theoretic models.
In whole, I would love to gain feedbacks, suggestions on my personal statement and hence I
am already thankful for the same.
