Answer to Question 1:
Tech Mahindra and Satyam Computers both are an IT firm and they have their own
dedicated IT infrastructure. However, after the merger, the It infrastructure needs to be
integrated as one to earn accountability of the organisation as and to assist each other in the
organisational operations. The integration of IT infrastructure will cite problems of scalability
and adaptability. Another prominent problem that may arise is the stakeholder associated
problem. The employees of the Satyam are habituated of working in Satyam’s environment,
however, adjusting to the new environment may develop problems. Additionally, integrating
of the separate business arms of both the organisations would create problems for the leading
entity to command and manage both the arms as one.
Answer to Question 2:
It would be recommended that the managers develop a dedicated server before
integrating the data and tools of both the organisation. The dedicated server will possess the
capability of suiting both the functional and non-functional requirement of both the
organisations. Additionally, the developed server may be designed to offer additional benefits
that may prove to be vital for the organisational data structuring and offering tools that would
offer sustainability to the organisation in future. The concern over the geographical distinct
locations can also be mitigated if the organisation and the managers decided to migrate their
on-site service to cloud. They can adopt migration tools to ensure that the transition of data
and tools from the organisational servers to the integrated server are safe and secure. Another
notable measure that the managers should take before migrating and integrating the servers is
to devise an appropriate plan of transfer with assistance of cloud experts.

Both the organisations are established in different geographical locations and
additionally, a majority of Satyam’s employee are from the Northern India, so, the
organisations should propose the employees the right to recommend their job location. It
would enable the merged organisation to develop a sense of loyalty in the employee and
hence retain them. The need for employee retention is prominent because both the
organisations has invested in the employees and letting them go would be a waste of resource
and effort. Additionally, the employees are part of the organisation and they understand the
working and need of the organisation which new employee will have to be educated in and
hence employee retention will be a factor of consideration in the merger process.
Answer to Question 4:
The first and foremost step that the organisation should take post-merger is to decide
the mission, vision and objectives of the new organisation. It will assist the leaders in
developing the organisational structure of the organisation. The deemed process will also
assist in concluding on several other aspects such as the It infrastructure, the need for
restructuring of the organisational operations and several others. Additionally, their
prominent focus should be on employee and resource management for which they can
communicate with the employees to earn an insight and develop the final strategy.
