This project delves into the impact of COVID-19 on workplace transformation, specifically within the context of ALDI, a German-based supermarket chain. The project addresses the research question through three main tasks. The first task involves a discussion of project management principles, including the project life cycle, factors to consider during project management plan (PMP) compilation, the importance of the project life cycle, evaluation of its stages, and research strategies and methods. The second task comprises research aims, objectives, a PMP, a literature review, research methodology, a work breakdown structure, a Gantt chart, project timelines, and a justification of the choices made in preparing the PMP. Finally, the project includes a reflection on the learnings and development resulting from undertaking this research project, highlighting the transformation in workplace practices due to the pandemic.

INTRODUCTION
Workplace transformation can be defined as an act of rethinking about the provision of flexible
workspaces in order to accommodate workers and equipment, so that effective and efficient
accomplishment of work could be ensured (Almeida, Santos and Monteiro, 2020). With the help
of workplace transformation initiative during the time of COVID – 19, it has been identified that
people are regarding their work and company more positively. Workplace transformation can be
easily evidenced with the emergence of pandemic in terms of how workforce is implementing
there work, from where they are working and how do they interact with their colleagues and
other employees.
This research project is based on the impact of COVID – 19 in workplace transformation
which will be studied in the context of ALDI which is a supermarket chain based in Germany. It
was founded in 1961 by Theo Albrecht and Karl Albrecht. Its business is expanded over 20
countries and has more than 11000 stores across the globe.
There are three tasks that would be accomplished in order to address the research
question where in the beginning discussion pertaining to project management will be done in
terms of Project Life Cycle, factors to be considered during PMP compilation, importance of
PLC in managing a successful business project, evaluation of stages of PLC and research
strategies and methods. The second task will consists of research aims, objectives, PMP,
literature review, research methodology, work breakdown structure, Gantt chart and project
timelines along with justification of choices made while preparing PMP. At last reflection will be
done on the learnings and development resulting from undertaking this research project.

Project life cycle is an entire journey through which projects will be managed and deliver
by the organisation. This is a complete survey comprises with different stages that are associated
with project. Life cycle include the different stages through which the project will; handle and
manage by the venture. The project life cycle further includes different stages such as initiation,
planning, executing, monitoring and closing the entire project (Bjorvatn and Wald, 2018). All

A project management plan is basically a formal document which state how the project is
being executed, monitored and control. This also involves the evaluation and selection of key
features which are necessary for the completion of different activities of projects. The project
management plan of current research project are as follows:
 Scope: This is first feature which state the aspects of a project. The scope of present
research is such that it will cover the impact of Covid-19 in transforming the workplace
practices only (Zuo and et.al., 2018). Also, the research project is based on retail
company of UK so this information can only useful for UK retail sector.
 Cost: This is another factor which state the amount of money required to complete the
research in the best manner possible. In order to complete all activities related to research
such as conducting survey etc. the researcher will require an amount of $800. This money
will be allocated by researcher in different activities of research.
 Deliverables: This factor indicates the main purpose or aim of the project that researcher
wants to deliver to its users. The present research project will deliver the information on
impact of Covid-19 situation over the workplace practices transformation with reference
to UK company name ALDI (Mothupi Mukonza, and Khalo, 2022).

require to complete the research project. The total number of time currently require by
the researcher to complete this project in successful manner is 2 months approximately.
 Quality: In order to maintain the quality of present research, the researcher will collect
the realistic data from the authorized website and employee of ALDI company. Also,

overburden etc. which is properly identified by the researcher in order to complete this

current research project is accuracy of data.
