2 ASSESSMENT TASK 1 – RESEARCH REPORT
Instructions:
In this assessment task you must conduct online research into health and wellbeing issues that affect
productivity in a workplace. This can be for a real workplace or a simulated one. The identified issues
must be analysed and an approach presented to your managers to avoid or mitigate the problem.

can affect productivity and, for each issue:
Research information on each health issue from external sources (e.g., prevalence of issue,
forecasts, is it an emerging or growing problem?)
Obtain information on this health issue from internal sources (e.g., from safety records,
consultation with relevant staff, personal knowledge, etc.)
Determine the implications for the organisation and business objectives.
List the standard approaches to address each issue in the workplace.
Locate and name relevant industry consultants by name and website
Briefly detail how the approach can be managed in the workplace, and give reasons for which
management approach you prefer.
Part 2 – Presentation and support
To support your team you must present the information from Part 1 in a brief oral presentation to a
management team meeting. During your presentation you must:
Discuss the three health issues impacting on workplace productivity.
Describe the impact of and approaches to each issue.
Encourage your audience to ask questions for you to demonstrate your ability to support them.
Ask for feedback and approval from management to develop a program to address one of the
issues using your preferred approach.
If you are making this presentation in a simulated context in a classroom environment your trainer will
witness your presentation and complete section 2.3. If you are not making this presentation in a
classroom environment then video record your presentation and include a copy of your recording with
your submission.
Decision-making rules:
To achieve a satisfactory result your assessor will be looking for evidence that you have examined the
identified health issues and accurately described approaches to managing them, and have accurately
addressed each of the issues identified in the instructions above.
Context of assessment:
This assessment task may be completed in a classroom, workplace or independent learning environment.
Submissions must be made in written form unless reasonable adjustments are approved by the RTO
manager. Submissions may be hand written or in soft copy
