Reflect on the simulation exercise undertaken in class: ‘meet the client’.
(If you have missed class, reflect on the knowledge you have acquired when studying project
initiation and answer as if you prepared for and met with a project client.)
1. Discuss what you considered when developing questions for the client and how did you
choose your questions.
While developing questions for the client, I always focussed on the needs of the project as well as on
those areas in which they are interested so that their answer can be helpful in creating the project
successfully. After analyzing through the questionnaire of similar types of projects, I have identified
few questions which I will ask to my client in the initiation phase of the project so that as per their
demands the entire project will be executed.
2. Discuss what you have learned from the exercise and if you think that it will be useful in
developing your project charter
I have learnt different project management aspects from this aspect which are not only helpful in
improving my project management skills for future project but it also helps me in creating project
charter effectively. It is found that learning related with project scope, time as well as budget are
found to be important for the development of project charter. I have learnt that the time as well as cost
of the project must be estimated effectively which is utilized in the charter for providing information to
the stakeholders such that they can execute the activities effectively. In addition to this, I have learnt
that the main responsibilities of the stakeholders must be mentioned in the initiation phase and this
information are used for defining their authority and roles in the project effectively. In addition to this, I
have learnt that communication plays an important role in executing the activities of the project
effectively and I can use proper method of communication within the project charter for making the
project success.
