affiliation into the work environment for that instance the leaders mainly involved the employees
efforts and appreciate in front of other. In contents of Starbucks, the leaders have an international

leaders mainly motivate employees in terms of rewards incentives and extra pay for working
effectively. In Starbucks, leaders provide good incentive and promotions on the basis of

The leaders get to know about their inner capabilities and weakness which they overcome
within the organization. So not only employees but the leaders also have benefits of this
model.
Weakness
The situation in leadership model is quite time taking as the leaders need to make proper
analysis of situation which delays in other organizational work.
The weakness also derives that leaders only focus on present situation rather than future
uncertainty. This will lead to lower down the efficiency and welcome future competition
into the organization (Ma, and Zhang, 2017). Due to having large business environment,

about finding solutions from the root cause.
This theory is a good approach to work in a dynamic environment for all the leaders and

leadership and contingency.
There are immense number of theories and models which are mainly used to define the
activities of leader and manager in an organization. In context of Starbucks, situational
leadership, system and contingency are mainly necessary for the organization in order to
maintain efficiency and smooth functioning through the role of managers and leaders which are
described below:
Situational leadership: Under this kind of leadership behaviour, the leaders follow basically
two elements of this leadership which is supported and directive behaviour. The leader takes the
decisions by analysing different situations and implements the best technique suited for the
situation so that employees will continue to grow and become efficient in Starbucks (Meredith,
and Shafer, 2019). The managers and leaders analyse different elements and choose the best one
in order to solve business and employees related issues facing by the company.

of together at words and every other individual has their rights and duty to contribute their efforts
an organisational objective. Every employee provides support and efforts into the business
weather giving guidance implementing it at workplace. Main leave this leadership and hence the
development and coordination among individual by understanding the power of unity and
equality. In Starbucks, employees and leaders have great Bond and coordination which makes

them motivated and give a competitive approach to work more dedicatedly. The work will carry
forward in a systematic manner that will impact in a positive working environment. Employees
of star bucks has clear understanding about the standards and policies of organisation as the

with many micro and macro factors full stop therefore there could be any uncertainty which
could have adverse impact on organisation. So that, it has believed that there is not an
appropriate theory a modern approach for solving business environment issues. No leaders could
analyse and overcome with an issue without getting prepared (Olhager, and Shafer, 2018).
Therefore, it is not necessary that every model or theories be fit into different situation contexts
in the organisation. Exceptions are everywhere which is described through this approach. In
context of Starbucks, the leader needs to be mentally and physically prepare for any situation,
circumstances or actions into business. As it could give a lot of surprises which must be face
through inner skills and capabilities weather looking for the models and approach which could
help the leader.
D1: Critically analyse and evaluate the different theories and approaches to leadership in given
contexts.
It has evaluated that the situational leadership is as necessary for organisation due to having
broader environment of Organisation in which leaders take decision as per different situations.
But sometimes leaders may lose present finding and create a complex environment in Starbucks
which required prompt decision making.
In the system leadership managers and leaders believes in undertaking the participation of
employees prospective which is a positive way to enhance motivation of employees. Whereas, in
Starbucks this style will create discrimination for employees who’s respective or not get
implement.
