1. Introduction
Corporate social responsibility is one of the commitments by the organization to behave in the
ethical manner with its stakeholders as well as to fulfill all obligations of minimizing any harm
as well as maximizing the benefits for the society. Corporate communication is the practice of
cultivating, developing as well as maintaining of the corporate identity of the image of the brand.
Therefore, most of the companies are branding their image through involving themselves in the
activities of corporate social responsibilities. Therefore, it creates strong relationship between the
corporate communication and corporate social responsibility (Abitbol and Lee, 2017).
2. Evaluation and Analysis of the company’s CSR activities
One of the leading company Nestle showcase the great concern for the society therefore, the
company has launched concept of Corporate Social Responsibility in the year 2006. The
company has completed great projects among which the significance change is done from Cocoa
Plan Project to facilitate the African Cocoa Farmer as well as the society take advantage of
setting the market price by emergent their productivity (Farache, Tetchner and Kollat, 2018).

CSR activity plays a vital role for the company. Nestle has introduced and launched various
program that showcase that the company involve in the CSR activities to the certain extent.
The company has developed two principles that focused on communications with the
consumers. Firstly it should reflect the moderation in the food consumption as well as not
encourage the overeating especially for the children. Other one is it must combine the desire
of balances and healthy diet.
2.1. Issues
However, in the recent, most of the individual ignore such benefits and continue towards the
bad diet. Therefore there are certain challenges that are faced by the company as they are:
Sustainable use of the water cannot be done by the company to the certain extent. The
company has adopted various strategies to control the pollution however; they
haven’t focused over the excessive uses of water that create main challenge for the
company to answer it to the public in the market.

requirement of the baby food that is adopted by the World Health Assembly as well
as done the faulty audit.
The company also faced issue in managing and convincing the public to convince

have faced certain challenges in such activities as well. The company faced issues in

The company is one of the largest food companies in the world. Therefore, it is found that certain
number of mistakes or error happened as well as occasional scandals also occurred. The
company has adopted unethical practices at greater level to the certain extent such as child labor
that affected the overall image or reputation of the company to the certain extent.
One of the cases occurs in which the company was blamed to addict the new born
children and their mother on the powder milk that affected the health of the children at
greater level. it lead to the hygiene issues that created great impact over the reputation of

In the year 2008, one of the scandal found against the company in China in which it has been
caught that Nestle had melamine in their product as the company illegally claimed that their

by Sanlu Group. It affected the image and goodwill of the company to the certain extent.

From the above analysis it can be concluded that Nestle has adopted various CSR activities that
benefited to the society to the certain extent. Nestle is consider as one of the leading company in
the international level. The company has presented its CSR report to the public to showcase their
involvement towards the activities of the CSR however; the company ignores its responsibilities
to the certain extent.
7. Recommendations
It is highly recommended that the company should follow its responsibilities in an effective
manner some of the scandals found that is done by the company it highly affected its goodwill as
well as health of the society. Therefore, it is required for the company to adopt ethical manner to
enhance its revenue that will make the society happier.
