INTRODUCTION
Management refers to the sets of the principle in which the organization manages all the
functions of the firm in effective and efficient manner. Basically it is very essential to manage
the firm in order to increase the scale of growth in the marketplace (Van Sprang, and Drion,
2020). The present report will examine the various management functions as well as structure of
the organization Mark and Spencers. Along with the function also determine the marketing work
and responsibility in order to survive in the market. Furthermore, highlight the talent
management and organizational culture.
MAIN BODY
Management structure
It reflects the structure of the company to organize and mange the hierarchy. It gives assistance
in highlighting the performance to accomplish goals of the administration. With the assistance of
structure develop the operation in effective and efficient manner.
The management structure is bifurcated into four parts which includes as follows:
functional: it is the traditional approach which is used widely in which people work
within the group with cooperation and coordination as per individuals department. It
includes the similar ability as well as capability of every employee serving the
organization in exchange for money(Deepak, and Jeyakumar, 2019) .
divisional or multi-divisional: in this form of structure the workers are divided into
group as per the requirement of product and services offered by the institution. divisional
of the work and workers might be based on the geographical area.
Flat: in this structure the employees work on the ideas and project directly with the
collogues or peers in the organization. It delivers exemption to the employees to work in
free environment.
matrix structure: it is the combo pack of two structure that is functional and divisional.
In this type the employees or workers report their leader as per the department which is
allotted by the institution.

It gives assistance in making fast decision with in the organization.
It improves the efficiency employees to perform the function of organization.
Cons of the structure is it lead to the competition among the subordinate which result
in lack of coordination.
The communication process become slow which affect the performance of company.
Hence, the Mark and Spencer use the flat organizational structure as it inspire the employees to
contribute in decision-making process for rapid change.
Business function
It refers to the process or the concept which determine the roles of the work which is operated
within the organization. It gives assistance in identifying the requirement which is essential for
the organization (Ansoff, et.al 2018.). It is very essential for the management of the organization
as it consist of planning, organizing, directing and controlling process of the organization. It
boosts up the production of the organization and assist in building a brand value in the
marketplace. The main functional area of the organization Mark and Spencer consist sales,
marketing, human resources and administration as well as informational technology department.
It is the most responsible element for the business to grow in the marketplace. The responsibility
of the sales department is to increase the awareness among the customers. The management is
responsible for the hiring and firing of the employees where the IT department is for any
technical issue faced by the institution.
Marketing function
marketing function refers to the promoting activity to increase the brand value as well as
awareness among the consumers (Failly, 2017). The marketing play major role in introducing
the organization in the international market similarly the mark and Spencer used this plan of
action for the rapid growth. The effective function of marketing decrease the competition in the
marketplace.
The function of marketing consist of four Ps of market which are elaborated as follows
Product; the organization deliver wide range of the premium products to the customers

equipment, furniture, food and beverage products for the clients therefore woman, man, kids etc.
Price: in the off-season organization adopt dynamic policy and provide offers and discount at
special occasions. The price range of the product mark and Spencer delivered is not high as well
as not low.
Place: the company is leading the international market as it is multinational retail organization.
The institution sells wide range of product through the various outlet in different places like
Egypt, Qatar, Jordan, Morocco etc (Hester, Rogers, and Robb, 2021).
promotion: the firm use various plans of action for the promotion of the organization's product.
The platforms which is utilized by the firm is public press, newspapers, social media, telecasting
channels, signboard as well as hoardings. For the promotion used loyalty programme in which
customer get points at purchase of every product of company.
Management function
This is the process or set of purpose which is performed by the responsible person in order to
accomplish the aim of the firm (Laforet, 2017) . It plays vital role in achieving the success in
the market and target the relevant customer as well as marketplace. The function of the
management is bifurcated into various element such as:
Planning: it is highly concerned with the formulation of plans of action for the benefits of the
organization as well as face the challenges in forthcoming. It can be done for the enterprises or
the particular department.
Organizing: this is the second step after the planning. The organization organizes raw staff,
instrument, capitals and resources which is necessary for the organization. It gives assistance in
increase the reputation in the market by organize all the plan in adequate manner (Lloyd, and
Aho,2020).

Staffing: it consists of manpower which is hired by the manger to perform the various activity
off the organization. It includes the selection process of candidate. It includes the identification
of quality of individual.
Directing: it is concerned with the leading and providing guidance to the employees of the
organization. It involves the function of identifying the individual ability to perform the work
(Mdala, and Michael, 2019).
Controlling: this refers to the process of controlling the management performance and guide
toward the success of enterprises. It includes the activity of monitoring the workforce which is
delivering the effective services in the organization.
In mark and Spencer organization the manager of the firm deliver the training and development
programs to the employees of the organization, they provide effective services to the customers.
The manager motivates the employees by delivering rewards and having good communication
so the employees will be satisfied and work with full efforts to achieve the motive of the
organization (Mensah, 2019). In order to enhance the performance of the individual the leader
delivered regular feedbacks to the workers and identify the area of improvement. In controlling
taking the effective action increase the reputation or image in the marketplace. The organization
hires the employees who have the relevant skills and knowledge to perform the function.
Because of this the organization manage to deliver the product and service to the right customer
and attract new targeted customer who gives profit to the company.
Talent management and organizational culture
Talent management refers to identifying the skills and knowledge of the organization. Basically
it is scope of hum resources process to innovate, prompt and proceed high performance of the
employees. Its main motive is to enhance the performance of the business. The human resources
select the candidates on bases of their performance in order to high right candidate for the firm
(Nedelcu, 2017). The human resources department conduct the interviews OF the candidate by
utilizing the appropriate tracking system. The management develops various plan of action like
regularization of attendance on regular bases. The department keep tracking on the performance

of individual in order to identify the specific area to appreciate or to improve. The role of HR is
to deliver regular feedbacks to employees.
Organizational culture it refers to the culture of firm which consist the ethical values, belief,
cognition and working environment of the employees. It is very important to maintain the
culture of the organization in order to achieve or accomplish the goals of organization and
employees that can professional as well as personnel (Odor, 2018). The positive culture of the
organization keep engaging the people in organization. Due to positive atmosphere the
employees of the organization encourage workers to continue their job role. It delivers the
satisfaction to the employees so the worker prefer to take responsibilities and challenges of the
behalf of the organization. It gives assistance in delivering the great team work with in
organization along with lead to the coordination and cooperation among the peoples. The
members of the team encourage and develop good relationship with the subordinate or the staff
members. It improves the productivity of the organization because of it work as strength to
defeat the competitors in the marketplace. The employees of the organization stay longer and
delivered healthy surrounding at workplace (Saunders, and Lewis, 2017).
