Question 4: Lime Bike SWOT analysis
Strengths
The lime bikes have been used by up to 100,000 riders within the Brisbane since the time
for trial in the city. The lime bikes have bells that have been fixed to help in alerting the
pedestrians.
There have been teachings that people have received for safety events for more
knowledge of operating the scooters.
Currently, along the Brisbane CBD, the speeds implemented are as slow as 30 Kph. The
great network of infrastructure for cycling around the city.
Weaknesses
The people who ride the scooters often overtake pedestrians on both of their sides. This
has made it difficult especially for the people who use canes.
The people who have visual impairment have caused the stress and collisions on the
footpaths. For the visually impaired, it is hard to detect the scooters who come behind, therefore,
causing many accidents.

As much as there are belts that have been fitted in the scooters, they are not enough to
alert the interested pedestrians.
Opportunities
There is a conversation with the pedestrians and the scooters to make the scooters to get
out of the pedestrian’s way.
Many changes will be made. These include encouraging people to help in the use of bells
as a signal to call out people out of the roads. There will be a designated spot in the city that will
help in bringing the scooters alone. This will help in minimizing the accidents that come about
the sharing of the path of passage.
Threats
The people at Brisbane who communicate with them look as if they are divided into the
issue of having the separation between the pedestrian path and the ministers of the land.
Outside the company stores, the speed limits include 40-50 Kph on the path the
pedestrian use. This must not be allowed through the path is not in the designated point.
The process in which the drivers use mobile phones has become more dangerous rather
than people enjoying scooters (Hinchliffe, 2019).

The responsibility of the issues that surround lime bike is caused by the government,
users and the lime bike.
The government is responsible because they have not come up with the policies that
guide the use of limebikes. This causes people to use the limebikes in the way they deem best,
like riding on it without helmets. This should be against the law if respective laws and policies
had been made by the government.
The government has not invested in the limebike roads, this has made the users ride using
the pedestrian paths. This creates confusion because of the inability of the people to note the
coming scooters. This causes accidents.
The limebike companies are responsible because of the failure to educate the riders. This
has seen the scooters ride on the pedestrian paths. Moreover, the riders know ride without the
helmets, this endangers their lives and they are likely to cause accidents on the roads.
The companies have not accepted the role of preventing accidents. They would say that
the scooters were created in good faith but the people are responsible for the accidents on the
roads. The scooter companies have not been responsible for the infrastructure in which the
scooters use.
The companies have not fixed alert systems that are audible and good enough to alert the
pedestrians that the limebike riders are approaching and on which side are they approaching
from.

The users of the limebikes are responsible. First is that they have not been responsible for
parking their limebikes in good conditions. This has not been implemented due to the inability of
the government to punish them [4].
The users have not acquired the helmets as they ride on the limebikes. This endangers
their lives and those of the pedestrians. The users have not taken the education as key in their
knowledge on how to use and where to use the limebikes, therefore, making the limebike riders
to use the pedestrian paths with no knowledge (Lopatto, 2018).
Question 5 b
The company has not defined well the users of the limebikes. This has seen young
children use limebikes in the way they should not be used. The young children do not know the
best practices on how to handle the limebikes when riding them.
Secondly, the company has not invested in improving the state of the limebikes. The
limebikes must have an advanced alert system that helps the pedestrians to walk without being
injured while the riders arrive at their destination without injuries (Lopatto, 2018).
Thirdly, the company must work together with the government to come up with the best
rules. This will help in regulating the access to the limebikes and eventually help in regulating
the accidents in the roads and the injuries that are self-imposed [4].

My decision would still be caused by self-driving vehicles limitations and the roads. The
limebike infrastructure is still poor and therefore, the riders are forced to use the pedestrian
paths, this causes them to have accidents often.
Also, the self-driving vehicles have the limitations with the alert systems, this makes it
more prone to accidents with the unsuspecting road users of the coming self-driving vehicles.
Currently, there are no known laws and policies governing the use of self-driving
vehicles. These policies would help in determining who is qualified to use the self-driving
vehicles and who is not qualified (Hinchliffe, 2019).
The accidents based on the self-driving vehicles are caused by the limitations of the
roads, the skills of the users or the limited technological innovations under which the self-driving
vehicle operate in [1].

Automated robots; the future promises the full features, robots that mimic the human
being and able to freely operate. The automated robots currently exist but at homes, they have
not been used. The robots will be used to pick items that are hot in the kitchen, the robots will be
used in the cleaning of the floor and the smart homes in the future. The kitchen automated robots
will be able to cook choice food and serve drinks to visitors.
Smart appliances; such devices as the watches the phones and even the jewellery will be
made smart and people will begin to realize the importance of owning these devices that will be
very smart. Through the phones, the users will be able to control the refrigerators at home, one
will be able to control the smart greenhouses at home and monitor the security of their homes
through the phones, watches or the jewellery. In the future, these devices will be able to answer
the human questions in a classroom setup, help in tracking certain data content and monitor what
is to be eaten on a daily basis based on the health conditions of the user.
Light controls; the process of turning on the lights on the walls and the house lamps will
become old fashioned in the future. As long as one has the right setup, the lights of different
rooms will be able to be controlled from the mobile devices, automated systems and touchscreen
panels. The programmed lighting systems will emerge to become on or off when certain
activities are done in the room through speech recognition or opening and closing of doors. The

Smart technology promotes efficient utilization of resources; this refers to the

and reduces time and cost expenses in the organization or home.

are done by the machines hence saving the human energy for other issues.
