There have been various benefits of cloud computing and big data at Tesco. First of all is the
agility. The conventional infrastructure to store and manage the data has been difficult. The cloud
database has been enabling Tesco to have numerous virtual servers and make them working
seamlessly in a few times. Next one is the affordability. Tesco hosting their big data on the off-site
servers and paying only for the power and storage spaces they have been using. With the big data
platforms the data could be processes (Assunção et al. 2015). The cloud computing has been making
the process accessible and easier. Tesco with the cloud could scale up or down their desired level to
process storage spaces and power quickly and simply. Moreover, there has been no necessity for
extra infrastructure as cloud provides most resolutions in the SaaS models.
However there have been various challenges also. The big data has also been providing
challenges to manage the data under the conventional framework. Analyzing the huge volume of
data has been very hard. There has been also problems regarding the moving huge data sets and
deliver the details required to access them in this high speed connectivity age. These data sets have
been carrying confidential data rising concerns about data security (Baek et al. 2015). The attackers
