Tesco is an employee owned company that is having a team oriented culture which is
focused and inclined towards fostering innovation, empowerment and personal growth of its
employees (Tecso controls Inc. Company Culture, 2020). The team oriented culture of Tesco
emphasis on the thriving professional and personal growth of employees through offering a
healthy blend of work, play and skill development to serve its clients with meaningful solutions
and quality product. Apart from this, the team oriented culture of Tesco also comprises of
providing regular training and development programmes for its employees to enhance and
sharpen their skills which also boost motivation and performance level of employees which is
essential to meet expectation and wants of customers (Gourlay, 2018).
Management and leadership in Tesco
The term management is basically related with getting things done by others to achieve and
accomplish set organisational goals where as leadership is associated with art of motivating and
directing people for more effective achievement and accomplishment of desired organisational
goals. In context of Tesco, implication of participative management and democratic leadership
style is made by its managers and leaders as it ensures better involvement of all employees.
Implication of participative management ensures a higher level of creativity and innovation level
in employees as all candidates are allowed to share their views and opinion which enhance
performance and success level of Tesco and also ensures better accomplishment of desired
targets (Murphy and Bratton, 2020). Adoption of democratic leadership style by Tesco ensures a
sense of equality and fairness at workplace that is vital to direct and motivate employees for
better achievement of organisational goals.
