AN EXPLANATION OF MANAGEMENT AND MANAGERS
Management generally refers to the activities of planning the
stratagem of an organization, and harmonizing the exertions of
the employees in order to achieve its set goals by the use of
resources which are available(Gulshan, 2014).
This term management may also refer to people who manages
the organization.

MANAGER
A manager is a person who is in charge of a group of responsibilities, or rather a
definite subsection of an organization. Majorly, a manager must have staff(s) who
are individuals below him, who reports to the manager(Franker, 2010).
Managers are of different levels which in this case3 includes the following:
i. The Top Managers ; these are managers whose responsibility is to create the
strategies of the organization and make sure that the organization vision and
mission is achieved.
ii. The functional manager; these are managers who mainly serve the sub-section
of an organization and makes sure that the area under their care is effectively
and efficiently in operation.
iii. Supervisory Manager; These managers organizes a subgroup of a particular
function

Managers can also be categorized as line, staff and project managers.
A line manager is a manager who heads a role which can directly impact
the service or product which is created by the organization.
A staff manager in contrary is a manager who heads a role which
creates indirect inputs.
A project manager is a manager with the responsibility of organizing,
running and ending of any project in an organization. Though this
category of management is found in technical working zones like the
consulting, telecommunication etc

AN EXPLANATION OF WHY MANAGERS ARE IMPORTANT
For a successful business, there must be managers who can control and
organize different functions and sub sections of an organization. The
following are the core importance of managers in a successful business.
i. Management potential: According to (Watson, 2009), strong
manager performance in recognizing employee performance
increases engagement by almost 60 percent according to Towers
Watson. Increased engagement leads to improved customer service.
Better customer service means more loyal customers.
ii. Shedding light through analytics: The managers especially the team
manager have the responsibility of inspiring the team in order to
make the organization achieve the set objectives.

most organizations as it serves to choreograph and also motivates
persons in performing well.
Managers in any organization are very much useful in decision making
and best decision making is what makes any organization or business to
prosper and grow positively. Its very hard to imagine positive growth of
any organization without the presence of managers.

A BRIEF OVERVIEW OF A SUCCESSFUL MANAGER FROM
MY CHOSEN FUTURE INDUSTRY.
The motor assembly industry like any other industry around the world is
among the many industries which cannot operate successfully without the
managers in place.
Team or supervisory manager who manages a group of experts work very
much efficiently and effectively in motor assembly industry. Since the
industry needs a group of experts to work on a particular section, the
team manager must be present to coordinate, organize and make sure
that each and every step in the process of assembly or disassembly is done
correctly and without missing out any step. This managerial role in the
industry has really caused the industry to grow positively and successfully
assemble and disassemble.
