MANAGEMENT PERSPECTIVES
Introduction to the organisation
The report is prepared for the purpose of understanding the organisational behaviours
and also analyse the dynamics of the business environment where the new dental clinic will
be established or set up in Australia. To set up a new dental clinic, not only the management
and leadership are essential, but also focus shall be on the analysis of various roles of
management. The theories of management can also be applied in different contexts of the
organisation, thereby, can ensure efficiency use of resources along with the methodology
outlining the various research methods associated with the project involving the
establishment of the dental clinic in Australia (Drori, Höllerer & Walgenbach, 2013).
The Melbourne Smile Care will be established in Sydney, Australia so as to deliver a
wide range dental care services and even manage services like implant ology, cosmetic
dentistry, aesthetics, restorative dentistry and even other dental procedures aimed at fulfilling
the dental care needs and preferences of people to keep them satisfied. The dental clinic
consists of several staffs and a range of specialists from various departments such as
restorative dentistry general dentistry and aesthetic and cosmetic industry, which can help in
delivering extensive dental care services and ensure that the needs and requirements of clients
are met properly.
Distinguish between leadership and management
While the leadership concept is mainly associated with the driving of employee
behaviours and managing appraisal of performances of employees, the leaders are also
associated with the roles of engaging people through inspiration, encouragement and
motivation. The leaders know to get the work done by employees by remaining aware of the
high functioning team, keep them motivated ad allow them to work together as an unit (Perry,

Wood & Fernie, 2015). The motivation and higher level of engagement during decision
making, which could make them feel valued by the organisation too.
On the other hand, the management concepts are associated with the management of
human resources, managing cultures and diversity within the workplace so as to maintain
smooth business functioning. The major differences lie in the fact that the leaders have the
subordinates or employees who follow them whereas the management is associated with the
roles and responsibility to get the team on board and accomplish the tasks properly by
managing shared vision, mission and goals (Hull, Su & Vaculin, 2013). But, both these
aspects are interconnected, as this could not only allow the company to create a workforce
competent and skilled enough to handle tasks properly but also would create diversity and
establish a good culture, needed to establish a new business successfully.
Methodology outlining the research methods
The methodology of the research project is based on the qualitative data and
information gathered in the form of responses from the managers of the organisation. The
non-probability sampling method or technique has been taken into consideration because of
the effectiveness in setting a convenient time for the managers to become a part of the
interview session (Silverman, 2016). Moreover, the managers of the company to be set up

must be present at the interview session and respond to the various questions related to the
establishment of the dental care named Melbourne Smile Care in the area and how it could be
beneficial for providing useful treatment to the people all over. The answers provided by the
managers to the questions asked by the researcher would be considered as qualitative data or
information, which should also strengthen the ability of the researcher to bring positive
outcomes as a whole (Marshall & Rossman, 2014). This is how the collection of data and
information will be possible with the inclusion of their responses, opinions and answers to the
questions asked to them.
The analysis of data could be possible with the help of analysing the content acquired
on the basis of responses provided by them and considered as qualitative data. The analysis of
secondary sources such as journals, articles, newspapers, documents and relevant information
about the assignment found from the internet websites could also be vital for ensuring that the
data collection process is managed properly and ethically too (Brinkmann & Kvale, 2015).
The methodology of the research also highlighted the importance of managing values
and ethics other than just data collection, which could ensure ethicality as well as maintain
the authenticity of research effectively too. To be noted that the research methods also
include maintaining the confidentiality of data and information along with making sure to
prevent any unauthorised access, which might even result in data redundancy and loss of
important data and information too.
Vision and values of the organisation
The vision of the dental care clinic is to combine the aesthetic perfection with a
devotion for providing exceptional dental care services to the people and build long term trust
and relationships with them. The new dental clinic to be established, also aims to be
passionate about its work, furthermore, emerge as a successful dental care clinic in Australia.

MANAGEMENT PERSPECTIVES
The mission is to improve the oral health through teaching, research and service, thereby,
ensure maintaining good level of trust, confidence and good quality work along with easily
accessible patient care services too (Rosenberg Hansen & Ferlie, 2016).
The company needs to be set up with the establishment of a healthy culture, where
people could work as an unit and in coordination so as to achieve the business goals and
objectives perfectly. The style of management could also help in managing the employees of
the organisation properly, furthermore, ensure maintaining coordination among the units and
achieve the organizational goals and objectives perfectly. The management of organisational
structure would be crucial for setting up the dental clinic and to ensure proper business
functioning (Huarng & Ribeiro-Soriano, 2014). This would be possible with the management
taking the roles and responsibilities of allocating the right tasks to the right employees and by
maintaining formal reporting relationships at various levels of hierarchies. The grouping of
individuals into individual teams as well as maintenance of a system would be vital for
integration of efforts along with facilitating the level of engagement or participation of
employees during the process of decision making too (Tsai & Pai, 2014). The implementation
of performance appraisal techniques and reward systems would also benefit the company to
set up easily with full cooperation by the staffs and keep them motivated and encouraged to
successful make the new organisation successful within the competitive business
environment.
Management theories and concepts
Based on Henri Fayol’s management theory, there are basically five management
functions such as the planning, organising, commanding, coordinating and controlling, all of
which, are necessary for making the business to get established properly. As the topic is
about establishing the new business named Smile Dental Care in Australia, it is important to
make sure that the future actions are decided at first so as to undertake necessary measures

and ensure maintaining proper budgetary procedures and manage human resources too. The
resources must be organised in a proper way, both financial and human resources in order to
make the leader or manager support them properly and guide them towards the shared vision,
goals and objectives (Tripathi, Kaushal & Sharma, 2013). The supervision of staffs by the
manager or leader could help them to accomplish the tasks properly and make them
acknowledged about the up to date information and data along with the new organisational
policies integrated with the organisational structure too. Moreover, the controlling function,
based on the theory should also help in keeping the outcomes monitored and progress,
thereby, implement necessary changes and undertaken actions, whenever necessary
(Ramakrishna, 2019).
Also considered by several authors that the management theories also include quality
management or TQM function and also the knowledge management theory, which should be
necessary for developing core skills and competencies along with betterment of business
functioning. The TQM management theory and related functions could allow the company to
commit towards the maintenance of quality of products and services, thereby, ensure that the

improvements are made through improving the process efficiency and not by forcing he
employees to do so. The knowledge and information about the business functions and also
the organisational policies to be implemented after establishing the dental clinic must be
shared among the employees for enhancing their skills, knowledge and expertise largely too.
This would improve the level of competency and allow the company to become successful
after its introduction within the business environment (Godwyn, 2015). A business, to be
established, not only needs proper management and allocation of resources, but also would be
essential for managing good ethical behaviours within the organisation so as to maintain
ethicality and openness within the organisation.
Role of ethics and diversity in the organisation
The ethics and diversity have always played a vital role in smooth business
functioning as well as fulfilled the purpose of business goals and objectives of meeting the

customers’ needs and preferences, furthermore, ensure higher level of client satisfaction too.
The management of corporate governance integrated with the organisational structure used
while setting up, could also benefit the company to handle environmental risks, operational
risks, though without compromising on the quality of services that should be delivered to the
dental care patients (Lozano & Escrich, 2017). This could also allow the company to gain the
trust of customers and make sure to protect the intellectual properties largely, to ensure
proper financial condition as a whole. Not only this but also the role of diversity is crucial, as
with the new business establishment, people from different backgrounds and cultures must
work together as an unit, which could create diverse workforce where varied ideas, opinions
and responses are provided, which should facilitate the process of decision making too. The
diversity management should raise the innovation level and boost company’s joint
intellectual potential, thus could make the tasks performed much faster and easily too
(Godwyn, 2015). Thus Smile Care Australia would be able to attain the desired targets
properly and ensure maintenance of proper values and ethics too all throughout the business
functioning while establishing in Australia (Boulouta, 2013).

MANAGEMENT PERSPECTIVES
The Triple Bottom Line has played a major role in managing ethical behaviours
within the organisation and it could also help Melbourne Smile Care to contribute towards the
people, the community as well the environment after being setup in Australia. With the
consideration of Triple Bottom Line, the company would not only be able to look after the
employees and meet their requirements properly by providing them with good amounts of
wages along with good working conditions, but would also help in contributing towards the
benefit of the community at large (Mba Sr & Teresa, 2013). To manage ethical behaviours
within the workplace and towards the society, the company should also aim at reducing the
wastes, manage sustainable resources and functions and use renewable energy sources to
reduce negative environment impact too. This would not only help the company to succeed in
