report, the case study is based on Corus which is part of Tata steel groups. Corus deals as steel
retail industry and its product are electrical steel, plates, narrow strips, semi finished steel, tube
products, wire rode and other rail products. In this report, the discussion will be based on roles
and functions of leaders and managers in the organisation. The study will analyse the roles of
manager and leaders in different situation. The study will discuss different management theories
and models of leadership. Further, the discussion will be based on key approaches to operation
management. Lastly, the study will discuss relationship between leaders and manager to
dynamic business environment.

to produce less carbon emission in the environment impacts as the policies will also be designed
to manage the pollution produced by the company (Williamson, 2018).

approaches.
The operational efficiencies which helped the Corus to meets its business objective
successfully are lean manufacturing, six sigma and just in time.
Lean manufacturing: This approach is used to eliminate the waste from production
process of the Corus company. The main focus of operational management is to remove the
wastes so that the resources can be utilised optimally (Egger and Ebner, 2019). This helps Corus
to improve its productivity by increasing the efficiency of the company.
Six sigma: It is a procedure for keeping the desirable quality of the product undertaking
required steps in accomplishing the procedure. Corus uses this method based on statistics and
mathematics evaluations. It is an important operation in Corus which helped the company to
meets the demands of the consumers which satisfies their needs.
Just in time: In this operation management Corus manufactures the product as per the
demand in markets at a particular point of time. The focus of the organisation is to eliminate the
fault and waste matter. As it requires the balancing of flow of scheduled and output. The Corus
