Management and Operation are one of important functions that is performed in every
organisation. Operational management is to done by performing various activities related to
planning, organising, staffing, directing, supervising and controlling in context of manufacturing,

and Helo, 2016). The company that is selected for this report is Tesco. It has its headquarter in
Welwyn Garden City, England as it is a third largest retailer in world. It was founded by Jack
Cohen in 1919 and globally expanded in other countries also. Various topics related to
introduction and management structure of Tesco, description about manager and leader and
difference in their role and function with reference to diverse situation in a business are to be
analysing in this project. In addition various theories and models of leadership including
situational system as well as contingencies leadership are covered under assignment. The report
also covers different contemporary theories of management and leadership as like management
by objective, behavioural and contingencies theory.
