several growth and development opportunities. Basically, the globalisation is a process by

which the trading and interaction can be able to get done on an international platform. Here,

E-learning Activities

Week 1 – Activity 1 – Ford and Taylorism

The Taylorism is one of the revolutions in the technological aspect and the operational factors

of the company. The theory has been effectively propounded after Frederick Winslow Taylor,

and the main motive behind the great change in the business activities is to enhance the

productivity of the employees and the level of efficiency in working. From the understanding

of the Taylorism theory which has been applied in the Ford company, it can be determined

that the companies in America, Europe, and Australia will surely be using the Taylorism

technique in its operations and activities (
Waring, 2016). The workers of the mentioned
places will be highly be following the Taylorism technique and theory as from the

understanding about the concept it can clearly be defined that the operations and productivity

is effectively getting improved and enhanced.

The design of the call centre script is very effective and suitable as there is the presence of

Taylorism theory. The perfection in the working and the timing for every single thing is been

get managed and handled in the most effective and required manner. Therefore, the

Taylorism is considered to be found in many areas where the productivity and efficiency are

high in demand. The script which is been used in the call centresis set in a systematic and the

workflow is also get performed in a very smooth and effective manner (
Giordano, 2016).
There is set timing and schedules which all need to follow effectively. This will be aiding the

firstly to manage and handle the work in the most desired and the required manner in the call
centres as well as other fields.

The video availed has been providing a great change that in the field of working and

technology has taken place. With the effective and appropriate use of these information and

technologies, there are many organisations which have attained growth and success in the

international market. At the same time, it can be understood that there are several

organisations which are coming up with new ideas and innovative thoughts which is making

the Taylorism concept outdated (YouTube, 2008). The innovative ideas of coming

entrepreneurs are making the Taylorism theory less valuable but there is the high impact of

this theory on many organisations at the present time as well.

Week 2 – Activity 2 – Pankaj Ghemawat on Globalisation

Yes, the concept and the perception which were there before listening to Professor Ghemawat

have totally changed about the globalisation. According to his view, the world has not yet

become totally globalised. There are still many areas where the improvement is highly

required and the implication of globalisation has not reached. Therefore, it is very important

for the people of the society to actually understand what the globalisation is and how the

world can be made globalised rather be called as globaloney. There are different issues and

factors which is having a great impact on the society as well as the international trading

which has not been focused much (TED, 2012). The globalisation has become very necessary

at the present time which had to be effectively be implemented in every nation so that the

trading activities can be able to get performed in the most effective way. The globalisation

rates are very low and it will not be appropriate in number if the effective strategies are not

made over it. From the views of the professor, it has been evident that the understanding of

the globalisation which all of us are considering is not actually what it has to be.

The major factor which is creating a threatening situation and making people afraid is about

the immigration which may take place due to the globalisation as per the people. But they do

not know actual fact and concept of globalisation. As the people of the society are not

knowing the number of the actions and trading getting performed which is creating a fear in

their mind and this is affecting the thoughts and understanding of them. It has been

understood that the people of the nation are much worried from the implementation of the

globalisation concept and they are not aware of its impact over the growth and development

of the nation (TED, 2012).There are chances that the fear which the people are having can be

reduced if the efforts are made for the global welfare along with this the specific defined data
and facts if are presented to them then, the fear of people may be managed and reduced

appropriately.

Conclusion

From the discussion, it has been understood that the Ford Company has effectively utilised

and implemented the Taylorism theory in its operations and other practices. With the

effective and appropriate use of this model, the slow and steady operations of the company

have enhanced and the pace has eventually increased. The application of this model is

understood to be implemented by many organisations worldwide to operate the activities and

functions.

From the discussion, it has been understood that the globalisation is one of the emerging and

long-lasting concepts in the world. It is very important for the organisations and people of

society to actually understand the concept of globalisation rather just understanding all that

happening around is globalisation.
