This personal SWOT analysis shows that there are more strengths than weaknesses
and there are opportunities that will pave for career development as there are prospects of
more experience which will help in gaining knowledge and skills that will help in order to
develop and grow. One of the biggest threats is not much experience in the field which can
hinder my growth of the career and can also result in losing the position to a more
experienced leader.
From the SWOT analysis it can be seen that there are many strengths and these
strengths will be fit for the organization, Woolworths. Woolworths is a super market store
chain that is based in Australia and is said to have high revenue. The organization is reputed
and big thus the strengths that have been assessed from the SWOT analysis will be fruitful for

the company. High qualification is important in order to understand and make use of the
knowledge for better decision making process. Communication skills are one of the most
important skills one needs to have in an organization especially people serving the
managerial positions as communication helps in communicating the goals of an organization
clearly and also helps in acquiring more business for the organization (Okoro, Washington &
Thomas, 2017). This will help Woolworths to keep growing, developing and expanding in the
market.
Most organizations are putting emphasis on team work as it facilitates proper brain
storming and also helps in getting many innovative ideas that help businesses to grow. Team
work also helps in dividing and distributing the work in order to work with conviction and for
better outcomes (Salas et al, 2015). Managing team is important which paves way for a
healthy working environment which will be extremely beneficial for Woolworths in the long
run.
Crisis is inevitable and it can arise in an organization in any given point of time.
Crisis management is important in order to save a business and overcoming the issues in
order to smoothly operate a business (Christensen, Lægreid & Rykkja, 2016). Thus this
strength will be helpful for Woolworths to overcome untoward situations that may arise in the
organization and help in operating successfully.
Effective decision making is necessary and important in every organization and
managers need to have these skills in order to help the organization avoid situation of crisis
and also help organizations to develop and grow in the market (D’Aunno, Alexander & Jiang,
2017). Decision making skills will help Woolworths make concrete decisions which will help
the organization grow and make necessary changes with the new market trends that will help

Woolworths gain a competitive advantage in the market and will also help the organization in
expanding the business and
Other personality strengths like helpful, friendly, positivity are extremely beneficial
characteristics that is important to bind the team and extract positive outcomes from the
employees. It is important to have positive relations in the workforce and a healthy working
environment as negativity brings poor outcomes which may have negative impacts on the
organization and which becomes a constraint for the managers (Yu et al, 2018). Thus I will
be a fit for Woolworths as these strengths will help in binding the team together, build a
positive and a healthy relationship among the employees and also help in maintaining a
positivity which will pave for fruitful outcomes and also result in a healthy working
environment.
However, there are some weaknesses that I have that may have negative impacts on
Woolworths. The first one is lack of creativity. Creativity is necessary in every organization
to come up with unique and creative ideas for the betterment of the organization. Lack of
creativity may hamper in coming up with unique ideas for the company. The other weakness
is not being calm which may have negative effects during decision making and another
weakness is lack of experience. According to scholars, experience helps in making effective
decisions and helps in putting the knowledge to use gained from experience in an effective
and efficient manner which helps organizations to come up with new ideas and avoid
situations of crisis (PMP, PMSA & Meyer, 2015). Lack of experience often lead to inefficient
decision making skills and understand certain situations which may have a negative impact
on Woolworths.
However, it can been seen that I have more strengths in comparison to the weaknesses
and the strengths will help Woolworths immensely in order to come up with new business

ideas, maintaining a healthy environment, facilitating fruitful work and also to make efficient
decisions making for the development and further expansion of the business and will help in
gaining profits in the market.
Use of natural occurring data by managers
Woolworths usually uses qualitative methods to search data in order to understand the
perspectives of the consumers and other market trends that are essential in order to make
decisions and come up with strategies that are important for the business. Natural occurring
data are used by the manager and has a huge impact in influencing the behavior and practices.
Conversation- Conversing with people and employees in the business helps in gaining
detailed information. Conversation is one of the important methods in acquiring data as it is
more informative and helps in getting a clear idea of the perception about the business as well
as the reason behind the information (Yang et al, 2016). Conversing also helps in providing
details and communicating necessary information clearly.
Emails- In the age of digitalization, most organizations communicate policies and important
information about organizations via email (Dow et al, 2017). This is helpful as it reaches
many people and is less time consuming. Organizations often take feedback from people in
the organization via email which is an important data for organizations.
Case study- Case studies help an organization get a clear understanding and idea about the
reasons that can harm a company. This helps organizations to come up with strategies to
ensure these situations do not crop up in the business to save the business from a situation of
crisis.
These methods are highly useful for an organization. Detailed information is
necessary to have a clear understanding about the organization and the perception of people

and the employees have about the business and the operations of the business (Kivinen &
Lammintakanen, 2013). This will help me to understand what change can be done to satisfy
the customers and to change negative perception if there is any for the development and
betterment of the organization. I will get to understand the exact reason for the perception
which makes it easy for them to come up with proper strategies to overcome the issues.
Feedback via emails helps in having data stored and also helps in understanding the issues
that employees in the organization face. This will help me to understand the issues and make
effective decisions and come up with a change in the structure in order to satisfy the
employees as they are the important stakeholders and their performance has a huge role that
contribute to the success of the organization. Analyzing case studies help me to understand
the kinds of adversities that can arise and negatively impact organizations. Thus this helps
managers to prepare strategies to overcome negative situations and also helps in making
effective strategies that help in avoiding these negative situations in the Woolworths.
Assessment of personal strengths and weakness
The personal strengths like communication skills, crisis management is important and
essential for managers and is going to be beneficial for the organization. These skills are
important and will help me in making positive decisions and strategies for the overall growth
of Woolworths. However, there are some weaknesses that I have which may hinder effective
decision making process because of lack of experience. However, according to feedback
received from my closed ones I have been able to become calm in emergency and crisis
situation which is a sign of progress as I would become very nervous during the advent of
untoward situations. The positive traits and the strength will help me manage a big company
like Woolworths and also ensure effective and smooth operations of the organization.
Assessment of the placement in the organization

9MANAGEMENT PERSPECTIVES
Woolworths is one of the leading companies in Australia and has acquired a huge
market share in the country. The skills and traits that I possess are important and will be
beneficial for Woolworths and according to me I would be best placed as a manager. The
managerial position will be the best for me as I possess the necessary skills and traits that a
manager needs to have to maintain the healthy workflow within the organization and also
keeping the interest of the employees or the team mates in mind. I would like to contribute to
the success of Woolworths and also help the organization grow and develop in order to help
the business expand.
Self improvement
Self improvement is necessary for personal development that later helps in career
growth. It is said that learning has no limits and every day people learn something and grow
their knowledge. I would like to work on my weakness in order to improve and enhance my
skills so that I can be more confident, increase my competency level and grow so that I can
operate and manage the organization I work for in a more efficient manner.
For self improvement and continuous development I need to take certain steps and
measures that will help me to develop continuously. The first is to be my own critic and
understand the issues and my weakness and not think myself be superior with the position I
hold. I will make an action plan and decide the activities that need more focus and have room
for improvement and enhance my skills and gain more knowledge so that I can be useful to
the organization and contribute to the success of the organization. I would also like to
develop myself personally as personal traits also have a huge role to play in an organization
that will help me to manage teams and build positive relationships in the workplace.
