Reflection
Importance of communication
It is found that in order to undertake the project of “Kitchen Renovation”, I have
interacted successfully with the various stakeholders in order to complete the work of the project
on time. Proper method of communication is mainly used within the project for providing
detailed information about the project as well as details about the roles and responsibilities of the
team members so that the project team can accomplish the work as per the initial planning.
Proper and detailed information that are provided to the stakeholders generally guide them and
them to complete the project accordingly. In context to project related issues, I have utilized fish
bone diagram that is found to be one of the important elements in properly resolving the issues.
Apart from finish bone diagram, I have also used charts in order to communicate the negative
impact the project will face due to the occurrence of the risk. In addition to this, as success of the
project is dependent on effective communication, therefore within the entire project, I have tried
my best to maximize the success by minimizing the chances of project risk.
Barriers and limitations in the project
While undertaking the work of kitchen renovation, I have faced a lot of barriers as well as
limitations but I have managed such barriers and I am able to complete the project on time. I
have risk management is one of the procedures of identifying, analyzing as well as responding to
any of the risks that generally arises over the entire life cycle of the project for helping the
project to be on track in order to meet the goals of the project effectively. I have faced a lot of
challenges due to budget overflow as well as schedule slippage but I have tackled them well by
effectively tracking the status report as well as progress report on a daily basis and have taken

proper step to manage such lag. In addition to this, I have also faces a lot of challenges due to
inappropriate use of resources in the project and due to which need for resources generally
occurs and when I have seen that this barrier can be controlled and therefore I started reviewing
all the resources that are used for the execution of each of the activities.
Use of project management cycle
While renovating the kitchen, I have divided all the work of the project into four different
phases that is initiation, planning, execution as well as close out phases. These phases generally
help in making up the path such that it generally takes the entire project from the starting till
close out. In the initiation phase, I have properly defined as well as authorized the kitchen
renovation project and have provided proper information to the team members so that they can
work effectively. Whereas during the planning of the project, a detailed strategy is created so that
proper plan for the project can be developed. In the execution phase, proper decisions as well as
activities are mainly defined during the execution phase for undertaking renovation successfully.
Furthermore, in the last phase, I have reviewed the entire work that is performed for making sure
that all the activities are successfully completed on time.
Project management tools
I have used a number of project management tools so that the entire work of kitchen
renovation can be undertaken successfully within the assumed time. Gantt chart is one of the
popular tools that is used by me in this project for scheduling the project activities as well as for
reflecting relationships between different tasks of the project. This particular tool is also utilized
by me in tracking both time as well as interdependences between different project tasks. With the
help of Gantt chart tool, I am able to keep proper track on the project and as a result the entire

project generally get accomplished within the time that is assumed. On the other hand, WBS is
also used for reducing the various types of complicated activities so that I can be able to execute
the project tasks properly. Furthermore, I have used network diagram in order to get proper
visual representation of the entire workflow of the project and it further helps in planning as well
as tracking the entire work of the project from the kick off to the close out phase.
Stakeholder analysis
I have utilized the procedure of stakeholder analysis for identifying the people before the
beginning of the project for successfully grouping them in proper level of participation, interest
as well as influence within the project. I have used stakeholder analysis as it is a technique that
is used for the identification of the stakeholder as well as for analyzing the project needs.
Furthermore, with stakeholder analysis, I have successfully vested interest the issues with which
the entire project is generally concerned.
Ways for proper management
In order to achieve success within the undertaken project, I progress as per the scope and
uses different types of techniques for avoiding the challenges of scope creep. Moreover, for
reaching success in the project, I have defined the project requirement in the initial phase and
showcase proper guidance to the team so that they can be able to finish the work accordingly.
Secondly, timeframe related tips that I have used for keeping the project on track also avoids
delay in the project and have helped in achieving success within the project. Lastly, measuring
quality during kitchen renovation is one of the significant steps for successfully meeting the
needs and requirements of renovation properly. Hiring experienced and skilled team members is
also helpful in showcasing that the project will be undertaken successfully. In the absence of

important resources, it would have quite difficult to execute each of the activities properly. Use
of modern technology is also considered as one of the significant ways that must be used for
achieving proper proficiency level of work within the entire project successfully.
