1PERSONAL STATEMENT
Effective managerial skills are pivotal for the success of any organization. In any
industry management of people is an essential role that helps to maintain the proper
operations and ensure better experience of the customer. Inefficient management has had
disastrous consequences on several businesses and it is therefore important for every business
to focus on the development of strong management and effective managerial skills. To be a
good manager, it is foremost important to know the business in and out and being familiar
with the operations. Being from a family of esteemed hoteliers, I have gathered significant
amount of knowledge about the hotel industry which I want to reinforce with theoretical
knowledge of the subject. Currently I am seeking admission in an University course from UK
and have completed my high school graduation.
I have completed my Graduation from [school name] School in USA in the year
[year]. The graduation degree helped me understand the subject of management to a great
extent, expanding my theoretical knowledge on human behavior, communication strategy and
management approaches. In my academic discourse, I have earned several accolades for my
academic performance and merit, which I believe can be used to bring value to your
organization. The rigorous course also helped me develop strong academic depth of the
subject.
I have always been keenly interested in managing people. Being from a family of
hoteliers, hotel business was a regular part of our lives. This gave me exposure to the
business and its nuances from an early age and helped me develop a strong aptitude towards
it. I intend to further develop my management skills by enrolling into the business
management course and further diversify my knowledge in this domain.
While working at the front desk for Best Western Hotels for 8 months, I used to be the
first contact agent for customer quarries. My work included a vast number of skill sets, which

included setting up appointments for the customers, concierge, customer complaint handling
and floor supervision. Multitasking was an integral part of the job along with excellent
communication skills and interpersonal aplomb. While working as a member in Student
Government Association, my responsibilities included record keeping of all SGA cabinet and
senate meetings, preparing agendas for all SGA cabinet senate meetings, keeping student
body informed by posting all minute of SGA meetings and Attending all SGA Senate
meetings.
I have also been involved in several extra-curricular activities such as rifle shooting team,
soccer team, equestrian team, psychology club as well as the gay-straight alliance club. Being
involved in these activities not only helped me stay in good health and maintain my physical
fitness, but also helped me develop my aptitude of working with people, understanding their
body language and develop my communication and presentation skills. The sports activities
also helped me stay energetic throughout the day thereby helping to increase my productivity.
I am truly excited about further developing my career towards management and utilize
my personal experiences and theoretical knowledge to help in the growth of the organization
I work for in the future and also become an effective manager.
