INTRODUCTION
Manager is a person who is responsible for controlling or managing and organisation or a
group of staff. This assignment is based on Tesco which is founded by Jack Cohen in 1919 and it
produces groceries products (Kobersy & et. al. (2015)). This report will discussed about the
qualities and skills of a manager and modern manager.
TASK
6 Main qualities that makes a manager a good one
Good communication- In Tesco, if the manger of the company have good communication in
both verbal and written, they can easily transfer information and message with their employees.
Good organisation- In Tesco, it is also important skill for the manger to manage, organise and
schedule the plan.
Team building- It also important quality for the manger so that when they are build a team for
completing a task, they should able to chose skilled and capable employees.
Leadership- In Tesco, it is necessary to lead the employees towards a specific objective so that
they can easily achieve it.
Dealing with changes- The manger should be flexible and adaptable so that they can work in
each situation.
Domain knowledge- In Tesco, if the manger have this quality or capacity, they can easily
manage the workforce so that workers perform their task in effective manner.
5 Qualities of the modern manager
Follow from the front- With the help of this quality, they can take responsibility for the work
and target that can be set by firm.
Understand technology- In Tesco, the manager should have knowledge about modern
technologies so that the firm run properly (Wilkinson & et. al. (2016)).
Lead by example- When they are lead a team or group, they motivate or lead them by an
example which can be their own or others.
Embrace vulnerability- In Tesco, the manger have the quality to adopt vulnerability because it
create innovation and creativity.
Belief in sharing- With the help of this quality, they can share their ideas and information which
help inn organisational growth.

Patience- In Tesco, it is important skills for the manager because employees appreciate being
treated with patience and firm achieve its growth.
Courage- With the help it, they face challenges and issues which occurs in their work.
Thoughtfulness- This skill help in generating ideas which are beneficial for the organisational
growth.
Fairness- In Tesco, the mangers who have this skill can make transparency in the work which
save the company from illegal activities (Wisner, Tan & Leong, (2014)).
Execution- With the help of this skill, they can design good plan and execute or implement them
for the growth of the organisation.
CONCLUSION
From the above information it can be concluded that having all the qualities like
communication and skills such as patience, the manger help in the organisational growth.
