INTRODUCTION
Intercultural management is a factor which businesses must focus on so that they can
have a strong internal functioning in the organization. The operations and productivity level of
the organization is going to be high making the company be able to match the demands and
needs of the customers. Sainsbury is having its headquarters in London, United Kingdom which
is serving in UK and was founded by John James Sainsbury. The company was established in
1869 is having more than 116,400 employees as of 2018 making a net income of 219 million as
of 2019. The report consists of the factors which are going to understand the cultural dimensions
and the frameworks in the organization and the different strategies which a business can use in
order to be able to manage cross cultural situations in workplace.
Understanding of different cultural dimensions of regularity and variability and produce
frameworks
It is very important for the organization to understand the different cultures in which the
organization is expanding themselves so that there is going to be effective working and
functioning which is going to be present in the organization. There are a lot of changes which are
going to come in the frameworks which are being used and the experience of the organization is
going to come in a lot of help of the organization in order to be able to operate effectively and
efficiently in the market (Mitchell and Benyon, 2018). The following report is going to discuss
the managerial approaches which are being adapted and their strengths and weaknesses so that
the businesses in the market will be able to make the right decisions for themselves.
Unequal distribution of power impacting managerial approach
Managerial approaches:-
The author stated that there are a lot of management style and approaches which a manager
can use in the business to utilize the power and culture again the maximum profit out of the
working of the organization's performance.
1. Autocratic management style and approach:- The management style follows the top to
bottom approaches, in which one way communication from boss to employees works.

This is one of the most controlling management approaches to make the management
making all workplace indecisions holding with all the powers in the hand of the boss.
Employee’s feel as a drone as they need to perform within clearly defined parameters.
Employees are not encouraged to ask question auto shared thoughts in improving the
process of the business (Usunier, 2018).
2. Persuasive management style and approach:- This style of management is used by
those managers and leaders would take their persuasive skills to convince other
employees to make a unilateral decision which I have taken for the good of the team and
it’s Department for organization. This is going to make the performance of the company
fall as well if the employees are not going to be dedicated in the organization and this
approach can be negative for Sainsbury for a long run. Management needs to give time
and understand the employees so that they can take actions according to the workforce
which is present in the company otherwise the employees are not going to feel accepted
in the company and the productivity level of the company is going to fall.
3. Democratic management style:- In Democratic the manager encourage employees to
give their input during the decision-making process but at the end although ultimately
responsible for the decisions at the managers. In this the communication goes both way
from top to down and bottom to up which help in a communication increased in the
employees and the manager. This process helps in diverse opinions skills and the idea to
inform decisions to everyone in the business. Employees get to speak their point of views
which is going to make the workforce feel more accepted and feel valued in the
organization as well which is going to create a strong factor for the operations of the
business.
The author concludes that the organization is using autocratic management style and
approaches to do the process of decision-making. The organization is also going from top to
bottom and not taking any and her friends and consulting from other employees who are working
for the organizations which makes them demotivated (Jun, 2016). Customers are also very
important for the company because the economic factor is going to be maintained from them
therefore even the culture and values of the customers need to be implemented in the
organization so that there is going to be effective functioning which is going to be present. There
is going to be a lot of mismanagement which would be present in the company if they are not

going to focus on the cultural aspect of the company which is not a good factor for the
organization to have for a long run.
Different strategies used in international business
As per the view of (Zrinka, Milena and Rebecca, 2018), there is a need for the
organization to adapt to effective strategies in the market so that the business will be able to
grow effectively in the market in order to be able to make a place for them. The strategies are
going to differ from location to location because the businesses need to change their styles and
methods so that the employees are going to be intact in the organization. Workforce is the
backbone of businesses in the market which needs to be well maintained so that there is going to
be higher functioning which would be present. Sainsbury is having a lot of experience in order to
be able to function effectively and efficiently in the market so that there is going to be higher
performance which is going to be present. Managers and leaders have to make sure that the
business is having a strong culture management which is going to make the company have
higher functioning and operations in the market which is a very important factor for the company
to have. Sainsbury is having a high demand and reputation for themselves in the market which is
important for the company to maintain so that there is going to be higher performance and brand
value of the company in the market. There are a lot of methods which can be used by Sainsbury
to be able to expand them in the market but they need to maintain the culture which is present in
the local area so that the workforce is going to be well satisfied and put in their personal best.
According to (Kurbakova and et.al., 2020), there are a lot of problems like
communication and other problems which can rise in an organization is the culture is not going
to be well maintained. Sainsbury is having experienced and skills employees being hired in the
organization but the company are also hiring employees which are going to make the
organization have cost friendly method. There are translators which are provided to the
employees of Sainsbury so that there is going to be strong communication at least which the
company can have in the market which is going to be very good for the functioning of the
organization. Workplace needs to be strong of an organization and with a lot of experience
Sainsbury understood the importance of this factor so that the business will be able to function
effectively and efficiently in the market. The right strategy can make the company be able to

operate effective and make higher profit margins in the market which they have just entered into.
It is important for the managers and leaders to understand the employees as well as the customers
so that there are going to be effective balance which is going to be present for a long run. The
sources and values which a business is having in the market are also going to impact the
employees therefore there has to be good communication which has to be present in the company
for taking out the best from the workforce which is going to make the company have higher
benefits in the market (Tran, 2016). The competition in the market is high and demands have to
be matched so that the company will be able to function effectively in the market for making the
company be able to gain advantage and maintain the trust of them in the company as well.
CONCLUSION
From the above report it can be concluded that the businesses in the market must focus on
the factors which are going to impact the functioning and culture is a very strong factor which
businesses must focus upon. Culture of the employees and business must be present for a long
run and clarity of culture also needs to be there so that there is going to be effective working
which is going to be present. The competition in the market is also increasing rapidly therefore it
is essential for the company to be able to make the right plans and decisions for themselves in
order to be able to maintain their performance and brand value in the market.
