INTRODUCTION
Management is the art managing work and to get it done in the most efficient way. In
context of business it is a systematic activity that includes many different types of activities and
some of its main activities are planning, organising, coordinating and directing related activities
in an organisation. It's main motive it to make the organisation achieve its goals and objectives.
The following report is consisted of the different areas of management. It first includes the
different types of management structures and business functions (Khachaturyan and Klicheva,
2019). Moving further it tells about marketing functions and its relations with the business
success. Then it includes different types of management functions with their way of managing
businesses. At last, it include the role of talent management and the explanation about the term
organisational structure with its impact.
Management structure and business functions :
Management structure can be said as organisational structure is a system from that tells
about the ideal way that has been made for coordination and controlling of different activities in
an organisation for the motive of accomplishing its goals and objectives (Trapp, Voigt and Brem,
2018). A structured chain of flowing of commands in a business is formed according to the
complexity of the business. There are 4 types of management structures which are named as –
functional, divisional, matrix and flatarchy. These are briefly defined in the following points :
Functional – In this the structure is divided according to the specialisation of employees
or based on the major functions of the company.
Divisional – This structure is used in large scale business unit based and the forming of of
structure is based on the different projects, product line and subsidiary forms of business
(if any).
Flatarchy – This type of organisational structure does not consist of different levels and a
single manager leads the group of employees. It is mainly used in small scaled business
organisations or one with low level of complexity (Eljabiri, 2020).
Matrix – The dividation of the workforce in this structure is based on the forming of
teams who are provided with their reporting authorities that are mostly two different
authorities such as functional and product manager.

Business refers to all the activities that formed wit the motive and consideration of
accomplishing the desired goals and objectives of a business entity (Brady, Mynard and Mercer,
2020). The department s in a business are made according to these functions There are different
types of business functions some of which are briefly defined in the following points :
Human resource department – This is responsible for mostly all the the employee related
activities such as hiring, training and performance management.
Finance department – This department handles all the money related operations of a
business entity such as investment related decisions, capital formation and dividend
allocating.
Research and development department – The function of analysing new ways in the
process of operations or upgrading / innovating new products or services is the
responsibility of this department (Welch, 2020).
Production department – This department is responsible for manufacturing the products
and certain other activities that comes in the way such as – procuring raw materials and
finding ways to make manufacturing activities smoother.
Marketing department – The activity of this is marketing the products and services of its
company to raise the brand awareness and make the society know about them (Peeler
and Ernst, 2019).

Marketing functions :
The engagement of marketing department with a business is made with the main motive
to make the product or service of the company identified and distributed to the consumers. For
effective use it performs certain classified activities such as segmentation of markets, researching
of market, distribution, promotion and analysing consumer rights for providing them with their
demanded type of product or service.
Inter relation of marketing function with other business functions fro business success :
For making the marketing activity effective it needs to collaborate and relate with other

Directing – This makes the employees know and provided with the responsibility and
work that they are expected though motivating them.
Coordinating – This is responsible for maintaining the coordination between the different

From the above report it has been concluded that, management is an essential elements
