Homework Assignment
AI Summary
This homework assignment examines the factors influencing household adoption of high-speed broadband in Australia. It applies a research model to analyze the determinants of behavioral intention, including lifestyle compatibility, perceived usefulness, and social influences. The assignment utilizes primary research, collecting data through questionnaires to understand the adoption process. The solution discusses the research methodology, including statistical calculations and the use of the technology acceptance model. Furthermore, the assignment addresses the challenges encountered during the research process, such as data collection and the complexity of statistical analysis. The document includes references to relevant academic sources, providing a comprehensive overview of the topic. The research concludes with the analysis of data to assess the factors that influence broadband adoption.

Question No 1
Apply the simple research model to the research article listed below by answering the
following four questions: i) where are we now? ii) Where are we going? iii) How do we get
there? iv) How do we know when we have finished?
Answer to Question no 1:
The research is based on the adoption of the innovative solutions that is adopted from
the theory of reasoned action (Adams et al. 2017). The theory adopted is generally dependent
on the different determinants of the consciously intended behavior. The adoption of the
technology can be traced to the use of the technology acceptance model which is suitable as
well as highly important in this particular concept. The conceptual framework that has been
used in this particular research is based on the determination of the different factors that are
important for the identification of the behavioral intention. This includes the likes of
compatibility of the lifestyle, perceived usefulness, social influences, gains form the
maintenance of the status, affordability and purchase complexity and the fear that occurs
from the advancement in technological advancements (Adams et al. 2017).
The main aim of the research is to prove the importance of the higher level of
compatibility, higher level of social influence, status gains, secondary source influence and
higher level of perceived usefulness is equivalent to the presence of a higher level of
behavioral intention to adopt the necessary technology. The framework has been developed
by means of selecting these different attributes as the dependent factor and the selection of
the behavioral intention as the independent factor. The main objective of the research is to
find out the case of high speed broadband adoption for Australia.

Any kind of research needs a solid research method to collect and then analyze the
data related to the topic of the research subject. The selection of the methods is thus quite
important to achieve the objectives of the research. The data in this particular case will be
collected through a primary research. The use of the primary research will involve the use of
the live research participants (Adams et al. 2017). A total number of 5533 questionnaires
were contacted within the country of which a total of 624 responses were received
completely. The study of the lifestyle compatibility was then used to measure the
compatibility of the lifestyle accordingly. The research also used a three item scale that was
equally important for the analysis of the data. The use of the measurement Model was also
observed which helped to gain the accurate results regarding lifestyle compatibility. The use
of these empirical tools like AT model helped to explain a large percentage of the variations
in the behavioral intention of the Australian households to install broadband in their houses.
The measurement of the compatibility was also shown through the correlation and reliability
tale which helped to ensure proper success for the research calculation (Creswell & Clark,
2017). The adoption of all these statistical calculations helped to derive the accurate statistical
results that are an important part of the research. The use of the quantitative data has been
preferred in the research which is quite important for research of this stature. Therefore it can
be said that the methodology of a research forms a crucial part in the assessment and analysis
of the research.
Lifestyle compatibility has been defined as the extent or the degree to which an
innovation can be said to be perceived to be consistent with the current needs of the
household. The significance of the lifestyle commodity has explained the largest variance in
the behavioral intention of the household of Australia. After the analysis of the research
through means of statistical calculations, it has been seen that the measurement scale has
been achieved. The achievement of the measurement scale has helped to showcase the

structural model of equation that clearly shows the behavioral intention of the people of
Australia to use the broadband connection in the households. The statistical report itself
indicates the end of the research s because such a report clearly presents the opportunity to
assess the different issues and their results accordingly. Therefore it can be said the
calculation itself marks the end of the analysis as the discussion is just the theoretical
presentation of the calculation.
Question No 2
What challenges did you experience in undertaking this activity?
Answer to Question No 2:
The undertaking of the research activity has been important for me. However, the
complexity of the research because of the involvement of the complex statistical calculation
has been quite tough for me. The rise in the use of the broadband technology and the use of
the IT has compelled a large proportion of the Australians to use this technology
commercially. The research activity personally was not too easy for me. At the very
beginning I had to collect the information regarding the total number of users of internet and
broadband in the country. After getting an idea of the numbers, I selected a large number of
survey participants to undertake the process of survey. As mentioned earlier, the survey
process was not too pleasant as just a small portion of the people responded in a serious
manner which limited the scope of my research. However, I decided to go ahead with the
research considering the presence of the minimum number of average persons in the research.
I was able to compete the research and found out that broadband is really one of the necessity
of the modern times and a large portion of the people has their aspects related to the same.
