INTRODUCTION
The management is the process to control whole organisational activities in order to
complete the all objectives and goals. Leadership is referred as the abilities of an individual to
influence and motivated others so they can contribute in the success of organisation. Leaders as
well as managers ensure the smooth functioning of organisation. In this report the chosen
organisation is Tesla which deals in the electric vehicles and clean energy. The organisation is
founded in July1.2003 and headquarter is situated in the California, United state. 70,757
employees are working in the organization. In this report, various roles of leader and managers
and various approaches are being discussed in the context of Tesla.
P1 Definition and roles of both managers and leaders and differences between management and
leadership
Managers: Managers is defined as a person who are responsible to manage all
organizational functions. He has charge over the specific department and on people who are
working in it(Adnan,and Valliappan, 2019). Basically the primary aim of managers is to exercise
all managerial functions. He has power to hire, fire and do performance appraisal activities and
monitor performance of respective employees.
Roles of managers: Managers have various roles and responsibilities within the
organisation to ensure the smooth working of Tesla. These roles are discussed below:
ļ‚· Manager's role in the Tesla is to find various relative informations by scanning the
environment and other internal as well as external factors. He monitor all aspects
then manage organisation accordingly.
ļ‚· Mangers also have responsibility to motivate, inspire and maintain effective
communication with all level of organisations employees.
ļ‚· Entrepreneurial roles is very important of manager to create and innovate new
process in order to increase performance.
Leaders: Leaders are the person who lead , guide and direct employees to enhance their
performance(Bush, and Montecinos, 2019). Generally leaders are the group of person that have
power to lead the organisation into the correct manner.

leaders in order to motivate employees and conduct organisation in defined manner. Some of
roles are discussed below:

Management and leadership is very important for the Tesla that facilitates the
organization in the management all resources in effective manner and guide and inspire
employees to enhance their productivity and performance. In the management process manages

recruitment process in order to hire appropriate and suitable employees that are able to complete
their assign task with efficiency. In the procedure of hiring managers of Tesla have various roles
to identify vacant position and ensure that these positions are filled with the suitable candidates.
After their selection leaders use various leadership theories to guide and motivate them to
perform their task effectively and efficiently.
Situation 2 launching new stores: In the current scenario Tesla expand its business by
opening new stores at different places. In the process launching new stores managers and leaders
plays various roles that are important to expansion of business(Guhr, Lebek, and Breitner,2019).
Managers collect all necessary data and informations and manage them in effective manner to
achieve goals. On the other hand leaders motivates and inspire employees by giving monetary
and non monetary rewards.
So all effective management and leadership help the organisation to complete their goals

challenges(Ross, 2020). Tesla use transformational and democratic leadership theories in which
leaders of organisation directly interact with their followers and enhance some leadership
qualities in their personality. Respective organization allows various ideas and motivates them to

order to run the business in efficient manner. From the idea of the product to delivered it to the
customers, an organisation conduct various operations. These operations are depends upon the
size and structure of organisation. Tesla conduct various operations such as define different roles
of every person at each organisational level, make coordination, ensure proper utilisation of
human and other resources, ensure smooth functioning and determine authorities at all
hierarchical level of company.

Tesla completes various types of operational functions that are necessary to run the

Marketing: Marketing function is referred as the activity that are undertaken by the Tesla
to promote their buying and selling of the respective products and services. It the important

that affect the activities of Tesla. Managers as well as leaders decision is also affected by this
external factors. They have to change their organisational policies and procedures according
