Introduction- managerial communication can be defined as a function that assists the
managers to communicate with the employees that are present within the organization. The
communication is best known to assist in the transfer of in the information from the sender to the
party. The proper channels of communication help in the flow of information and leads the
organization towards the common goals (Lillico, 2016). The main objective of the essay is to
properly designate the patterns in the action, feelings and thinking and action into myself. This
could potentially describe the reason behind a person reaction to a certain situation through these
traits. Perhaps, personality can be described as a major form of advantage that forms the
background of each and every individual. There are five big components that forms the part of
the big 5 personality test and it includes the openness, extraversion, neuroticism, experience,
agreeableness and conscientiousness.
Understanding of the personality based on the test results- the big 5 test taken has
revealed the following information. (1) openness to experience- the people that possess such a
trait will consider doing innovative things and also considering things. It has been found that the
people that possess such a characteristic will be more receptive towards the learning new
challenging things and will also be perceptive towards the emotions and thoughts (DeYoung et
al., 2014). After taking the test I scored low in this segment which means that I do not seek out
new experiences. While it is important to highlight that is like to be creative but do not have the
skills of an artist. To do something creative, I will comparatively take more time than analysing
some data. however, on certain occasions like to be creative (figure 1).

(2) conscientiousness- it is defined as person that is dependable, organised and working
hard. This means that person that have a tendency to show self-discipline will work in orderly
and dutifully. This can be linked with the trait of personal achievement, and I have also received
a bit high score on this component (figure 2). I personally feel that I am reliable, organized, very
calculative and careful and careful while getting things right. A study described that a
conscientiousness person will be is less likely to get divorced if the relationships are based on
these characteristics (Leutner et al., 2014).

` (3) extraversion- the people that treat others actively and warmly and in an excitement
seeking way can be described by this trait (Leutner et al., 2014). I ranked here very low and I to
some extent disagree with the analysis as because the persons that know me will not give me low
score. I personally prefer small groups to the large crowds and I am a thoughtful and a quite
person. I prefer to spend time on my own and force myself to talk with people at the social
situations. (4) agreeableness- people have a tendency to like others that are cooperative, tender-
minded, modest and straightforward. Such people have a positive attitude and get along with
others easily. I got a high score in this segment because of me being culturally competent and
was brought up in a family that is supportive, courteous and good natured. Moreover, I also have
a natural affinity for empathy and also sympathize with others. (5) Neuroticism- the people that
are self-conscious, depressed, hostile, angry and anxious will be categorized by this trait (Giluk
& Postlethwaite, 2015). I got a very low score in this segment and I am secure and feel relaxed at
any situation. I am highly a conscientious person that an easily get worried but I do not express
myself and keep things to me (figure 4).

The second tool that is used to analyse the personality is the Myers Briggs Type
Indicator. This is a potential tool that can highlight the strength and weakness in the specific
areas of the personality for myself. I predicted myself to be a INFP personality which depicts
Introversion, Intuition, Feeling, Perception. My nature of being an INFP highlights that I am sort
of person that is always looking for optimism even in worst of the situations and incidents. The
traits of INFP might be perceived as a shy, reserved and calm. However, it has been seen that the
INFPs have the passion and flame that truly makes a person to shine. One of the positive side of
mine that has come forward is the intuitive, flexible to others, and open mindedness. Thus, in
short a creative person (Fretwell, Lewis & Hannay, 2013).
Communication strength and weakness-The individuals with INFP has an attitude that
comes naturally to them is the live and let live attitude. Here, a person is not constrained by the
rules and it means that the idea of each person is valuable to me. Moreover, it also provides me
with the benefit of doubt, as long as the principles are not being challenged. The creativity in me
will also allow me to see certain things from an unconventional perspective. A study has
indicated that the agreeableness is a significant predictor of the innovative supportive national
level innovation and national cultural practice (Rossberger, 2014). While on the other hand, I
think in an idealistic way which is sometimes to a greater extent. Moreover, an introversion can
be defined as taking certain things personally, while it does not mean that I am dictatorial or
selfish. Due to the introversion attitude, I tend to do some job personally without asking for
others help. Moreover, introverts also give off the expression that they do not want to receive
attention from others (Jensen, 2016).
Implications at the workplace- I have experienced the importance of the agreeableness
skills in the workplace when I was running my business in my country and was in a situation of

discussion with the employees and the partners considering the future strategy. It is important to
note that during the discussion, some of h employees provided ideas that had really helped in
moving the business towards the right direction. Thus, this sort of situation can actually be useful
for the business and it is also necessary to listen to the ideas of all interested individuals that are
willing to share their thoughts and ideas. Secondly, in my work experience I also experienced
tiredness from the job because I do not rely on someone and I hesitate to talk with others.
Moreover, I do not prefer to anybody to stop their work and help me instead for my sake (figure
5).

Areas that need improvement- the introversion that I possess can also lead to a situation,
where apprehension might lead to situations that can restrict the actions, and it will also impact
their personal relationship with others (Furnham & Crump, 2015). Thus, it is important to
mention that this needs to improve and it should be done in a right way because the extroverts
gain a much of their energy by interacting with the other people in their work environment.

Although, I do not lack creativity entirely but I still have the room to improve myself. That’s
why I will be emphasizing my energy to improve my skills on creativity.
Plans for improvement- It is highly important to enter into personal coaching, mentorship
or fellowship program that will help me to change my attitude and my personality. It is important
to note that I lack creativity not entirely but to an extent where I take a longer amount of time to
come up with an alternative strategy or an alternative innovative plan. Therefore, I guess this can
also be improved if I can get proper help from the proper personal coaches and self-development
books. The self-help books will serve as the best way of getting the knowledge and assistance
from the experts (Parks & Szanto, 2013). I will improve my skills and also enhance them through
a plan of action that will have a timeline of 6 months. The final assessment will be an assessment
test based on the 2 self-assessment tools- big five and Meyers Brigs type indicator.

Conclusion- Thus, from the above discussion it can be concluded that, people that
