INTRODUCTION
Skills and experience is defined as abilities of an individual which is required to get a
specific project and handle the all activities. If all functions and activities are properly
maintained then it will be opportunity to grow their career and build the effectiveness (He, Zhao
and Lu, 2019). Reflection is the self assessment activity which is required to know about strength
and weakness then bring the changes accordingly. This reflection is about a manager of Asda
that role played by me in which I analysed my knowledge and experience that is needed to
complete the project and particular task.
Main Body
Self assessment is the analysis of individual skills and knowledge which is important to
consider while operating any activities. To complete the task and attain the business goals it is
highly important to know what challenges are facing by organization and how they can be
overcome. As a manager of Asda I have many responsibilities that needed to perform by me so it
is important to know how globalisation and technology might be affect the business and how the
negative changes can be overcome in challenging environment. The impacts of Globalisation on
retail store are as defined:
Impact of globalisation in Asda retail company -
As a manager, it will be opportunity for the company to expand its branches to other
countries through globalisation and take participate in the new emerging market. Company can
enter into new market and reach out to its potential buyers. I am responsible for new
responsibilities as well as challenges that comes in their way. Challenges are what are the
decision I need to take in operating the strategies. I will be responsible for all the planning and
implementation has been taken. So, as a manager I require to take careful decision while
formulating the strategies and following the business regulations (Kraus, Burtscher, Vallaster
and Angerer, 2018).
Through globalisation my duties has been expanded as they require to be focused on cost
reduction in the organisation and sustain profitable position despite of all the challenges. For this
I require to take overview of market and study the what could be profitable for company and
opportunity to grow in the market.

In retail sector, every new product is coming in the market and giving tough competition
to their competitors. As a manager they have to check what is prevailing in the market how to
deal with the new challenges. As manager, I require to research in market what are demands and
supply in the market and what I could introduce to penetrate in the market. By using the new
technology I decided to bring effective distribution process which can help to increase sales by
reaching the customers (Mitaľ, 2018).
As manager it is mandatory to focus on technology and development of new product and
services which can be offer by organisation to give tough competition to its rivals. By using the
new technology I have improved my ICT skills, technological skills, and personality skills which
helped to solve all problems and meet with customer's expectation. Technology can impact the
business in retail positive as I need to follow current trend in the market to sustain in the market
which will also help in cost reduction in the company (Brannon, 2018).
The negative impacts also can be arises in adopting new technology as organisation
requires huge capital in technology department that would be supervise by finance manager to
check how much amount can be invested in innovation and technology department. This will be
create the difficulties how to arrange the capital and other resources in adopting technology.
Skills/Knowledge and Experience Required
As a Manager of Asda, I have to aim for my skill development so that I am able to
achieve my personal goals and objectives as well as the goals and objectives of the organization
in a highly effective manner. The post of a manager requires that a person must have the right
aptitude so that the various areas can be targeted for the purpose of improvement. The personal
skills which are required for the post of Manager are as follows-
Adaptability- Adaptability is an important skill. As a manager it is required that a person
must be highly adaptable so that dynamic goals as well as objectives can be attained. As
the manager of Asda, I have to ensure that I aim for improvement in this skill so that I am
able to adapt effectively to the changing needs and requirements without facing problems

Motivation- Motivation is quite an important skill. As a manager it is important that the
motivation can be achieved which will be quite helpful in the attainment of goals and
objectives by the team members. As the manager of Asda, I need to make sure that I can

beneficial for me by using technological skills I could get success in developing my professional
career and growth as well. This will provide me opportunity to manage the task and cover the all
understanding that how to overcome the negative impacts and maintain higher performance.

From the above report it can be concluded that reflection is the process of showing own
