INTRODUCTION
Selection of the right type of management style plays a vital role in the success of any business.
This will help the manager of the organization to lead and motivate the team and individual to
achieve the goal and objective of the organization. Effective leadership and communication
process enables the organization to complete the task within the prescribed time limit (Kiefer,
2016). This report represents an analysis of my managerial and personal skills in order to lead
and motivate the team to accomplish the prescribed goal and objective of the organization. This
report also includes an assessment and evaluation of my managerial and personal skills that make
me able to produce career development plan and how my skills support that plan in context with
the hospitality industry.

Management style is the particular way that a manager of the organization opted to lead and
direct the team and individual in order to accomplish a specific task and objective of the
organization as a whole. Management style can vary from company to company, management
level and person-to-person (Kiefer, 2016). There are different types of management style as
follows
Autocratic management style-This refers to manage and direct team members and the
organization through control. In this type of management style, the manager has strong authority
to make decisions and very less and can say that no involvement of employees in the decision-
making process (Fiaz, et al, 2017).
Transactional management style-This management style focuses to improve the performance
of employees by providing rewards, incentives, and bonus. In this management style manager
thinks that providing extrinsic reward is the best way to manage and motivate employees in the
organization this will, in turn, help the organization to achieve its objective (Taucean, et al,
2016).
Democratic management style-This is based on the fact that everyone should get a chance to
present their views and ideas no matter what is the position and designation of the person in the
organization. This helps to make quick decisions (Fiaz, et al, 2017).
Transformational management style-This is a style in which a manger encourages and inspire
employee of the organization to think creative and innovative in order to make positive changes
in the organization that help the organization to shape future success.

effectively and encourage the team to face any situation (Antonakis and Day, 2017).
Consistency –This is one of the essential characteristics of leadership that help the leader of
Travelodge to gain credibility and respect this will set an example for team members and
employee to do the work in the same way.
Honesty and integrity-This considered as one of the supreme characteristics of leadership. This
is very important for the organization to achieve success and maintain that success in the long
term. This is necessary for the leader to focus on values and belief to make it is possible for the
team and employees to attain the goal (Leithwood, and Azah, 2016).
Conviction-Willingness to attain objective and a strong belief towards mission the organization
is one of the important characteristics of leadership. This can help TUI and Travelodge to inspire
and motivate employees to perform best in the right direction in order to achieve the optimum

process followed by the organization to ensure effective communication. Upward
communication means the communication that moves form employees of the organization to
superiors means lower level to upper level. In this communication, if employees of the
organization have any problem or issue then they can inform those problems to the top
management and top management make efforts to resolve the issue. Employees can share

OWN POTENTIAL
It is very essential to set and prioritize goals and objective in life to develop and grow in life. I
have to evaluate and analyze all the opportunities and try to attain those opportunities by making
use of strength. I have to focus on enhancing and improving my skills and knowledge in order to
become a good manager and along with this, I have to make sure that, I am working on my
weaknesses in order to overcome them. Those weaknesses can act as a hurdle in the path of my
success. Here I mentioned a plan that represents those skills that I want to prioritize in order to
develop my potential.
Time management- I am keeping this at first because I realized that I am lacking in managing
time properly and my aim is to utilizing it by avoiding an unnecessary task that helps me to
improve it and performing the task and this, in turn, help me to enhance productivity and
efficiency.
Problem-solving skills- I prioritize it because it is very important for the manager of the hotel to
solve problems quickly and effectively and this is a very essential aspect to sustain in the long
