industry trends and with the help of other information the manager can predict the future as well
forecast the future demands. The linen stock includes the fabric household goods which are
intended in daily uses such as bedding, towels, tablecloths etc. To meed the demand it's very
essential for hotels to forecast the linen stock which is supply to guest by which guest remains
happy as well as their demands are also meet (Mayson and Charlton, 2015). The importance of
forecasting are:-
Customer satisfaction:- With the help of forecasting customer satisfaction will increase
as the hotel is need to provide the services which they want. Through this product
demand can be predict according to which products can be available to fulfil customers
demands on time.
Improve pricing and promotion management:- The promotions and related
forecasting allows hotel's to improve the flow of goods and achieve accurate results in
terms of stock fill rates and it's availability (Ragab and Meis, 2016). This also helps them
to forecast the impact of pricing depends upon both gross margin and revenue.
Reduce inventory stock outs:- As the items are buying from long lead times than it's
essential for organisation to provide demand forecasting to suppliers as according to that
raw materials in anticipating of actual customer orders.
