Preventive measures in reducing the falls and plan
effective fall management
The project is focused on the problem of unwitnessed falls at aged care wards in health care
institutions. The falls results in the fracture, death, adverse health outcomes, therefore the
project is focused on the developing the skills and competencies of the nursing professionals
as they play an important role in providing the care facility to the aged people admitted
within the institution. As the aged people admitted within the institution requires special
medical care and attention, and the nursing students, as well as professionals, are trained to
help and take care of their patients, also the education patterns for nursing professionals
within UK health sector is being focused on taking care of aged people (Koh, 2012).
The care of aged people in the health care is a challenge within the sector, therefore the
modern health care sector is effectively focused on training the nursing professionals to take
care of the aged patients and ensure that are being provided with every facility at the health
care, also Advanced Care Planning (ACP) is being considered as an effective way to the
develop the skills within the nursing professionals so that they can focus on taking effective
care of the aged patients (Ke, et al., 2015). The nursing professionals are trained to take care
of the patients irrespective of the age factors, therefore with the increasing issue of the falling
in the aged people and poor care facilities available, the focus on developing a positive
attitude among the nurses is increased and the health care institutions are effectively focusing
on the providing the aged people with more extensive care facilities within the institution
(Haesler, et al., 2016).
The professionals within the health care are effectively focused on adopting the programmes
to promote the health and care facility for the elderly peoples, also are integrating the services
so that the aged patients can be provided with effective care and treatment facilities, as taking
care of the aged patients is also a part of the job responsibility of the nursing professionals
(Donelan, et al., 2019). The problem of the care of the aged patients in being focused upon
and the nursing professionals play an important role in taking care of the patients within the
industry, therefore the integration of the medical practitioner with the nursing professional
helps in improving the care within the sector (Verweij, et al., 2018).
The goal of the project is to effectively focus on improving the care that is being provided to
the aged patients within the institution so that the incident of the unwitnessed falls can be
avoided. As such falls results in adverse effects on the health of the aged patients, therefore

the goal of the project is focused on improving the effectiveness of the nursing professionals,
as they an important role in taking care of the aged patients and such initiatives will help in
providing them with the required care so that such issues can be avoided within the health
care institutes (Blomberg, et al., 2013).
The project goals can be ensured if the goals and objectives are being aligned with the
organisational goal and should be on establishing effective measures so that the activities can
be analysed and measured.
 The goals set for the project are specific as they are linked to improving the
performance of the nursing professionals to provide better care to the aged patients,
 The goals are measurable, as the effectiveness of the goals can be ensured by
analysing the patient’s satisfaction within the institute.
 The goals are reliable as such practices can be effectively implemented through
providing effective training to the nurses.

 The outcomes of the project will the institutions in analysing the factors that were
involved within the unwitnessed fall and will also help them to take necessary steps so
that the safety of the patients can be ensured.
The project implication within the industry is focused on the assumption that the
professionals are not focused on proving the quality services to the aged patients, also they
lack the required skills and competencies which is required within the industry. Implementing
the project will result in improving the competencies of the nursing professionals and will

result in reducing the incidents of the falls within the sector. Also, the project is specifically
focused on identifying and eliminating the factors that result in the falls of the aged patients
and to provide them with care and quality services within the institution (Capezuti, et al.,
