INTRODUCTION
Equality is a type of process that must ensure groups and individuals which are not treated
differently at workplace. It always promoting the equality within marks and spencer to remove
discrimination between employee (Rojas, 2018). Diversity is mainly recognised that give value
peoples to contribute and realise specific potential by promoting the culture or environment of
staff members. In UK, Marks and Spencer is legally required to follow practices that eliminate
discrimination and also ensure that employee can expect fair as well as equal treatment at
workplace. Having a diverse workforce that means marks and spencer can find wide range of
idea, resources and skill that provide business a competitive edge (Hossai and et.al., 2019).

Significance
The importance of research project is to determine the equality and diversity at workplace
because it became easier for research to identify specific information or data which improve use
in future study purpose. Further future study, researcher analyse existing case studies for
understanding about the topic in proper manner.

Project management plan is a process that mainly used to describe the stage of research
project. It mainly including the various type of components that help for finding an appropriate
conclusion. It includes initiating, planning, executing, controlling, monitoring and closing
(Caven and Nachmias, 2019). Time: It is defined the specific time intervals that complete the project task with specific
couple of time. Researcher will complete the entire research project within 2 Month.

P4 Research methodology
Methodology is based on theoretical analysis which applicable in research case study. It also
comprises the analysis of different methods and principles that associated with the knowledge
(BoydCrook and Smith, 2019). It helps for researcher for improving understanding towards the
research project and how it will improve steps for project completion. Research Method: it is defined the systematic and scientific process for gathering
information related research study. It also useful in research project to specify and discuss
use of research in future study. It can be divided into two types: Applied and fundamental
research. Researcher has chosen fundamental type because it is based on the concept of
existing theory that help for research to find out the aim of project. It also changing the
variables and acknowledge of relevant data of case study.
 Research design: It refers to overall strategy that has chosen by researcher to integrate
the various components in the project study of logical manner. Researcher has chosen
design pattern for collecting data and measure the specific variables in research problem
(Shelto, Haynes and Creghan, 2018). Research design can be classified into two groups:
conclusive and exploratory. Researcher has chosen exploratory design because it can be
used in qualitative research method for gathering and collecting specific details about
project. Researcher has chosen this design because it helps for identifying initial pattern
that easily tackle new problem by using existing theories.
 Research approach: It is defined the overall plan of research project which consists of
various steps related assumption in detailed manner. In this way, it easily identifies the
nature of project and how to handle problem during analysis (Kumar, 2019). Research
approach can be divided into Abductive, Deductive and Inductive approach. Researcher
has chosen inductive approach that must start with the existing theories and observation
which finding the results. It mainly involves the pattern of analysis and development of
theories in hypotheses manner. Researcher has chosen the approach for generating
specific meaning aim through data collections in order to determine relationship between
existing theories.
 Research philosophy: It is belief on the research in which data about phenomena should
be collected, used and analysed for research purpose. Research philosophy basically
details with the different source, development knowledge which simply generate brief

idea in project (Lê and et.al., 2019). There are different ways to categorise the research
philosophy. It involves realism, pragmatism, positivism and interpretivism. In research
study, researcher has chosen interpretivism philosophy that mainly based on the interpret
element according the human interest. The interpretive scholar assumes the access of
reality through social constructions.
 Data collection: It is a type of process for collecting information and data from various
type of authenticate sources to find the specific answer of research problem. It is based on
the hypothesis which evaluating the result or outcome (Meredith, Dicks and Wagstaff,
2018). It can be categorised into two types: primary and secondary data collection.
Researcher has chosen qualitative primary data collection method by applied within the
short duration that compare to qualitative methods. Researcher uses the questionnaire for
finding the accurate result or outcome. In this way, researcher conduct the better ways to
generate solution.
 Data analysis: It is a type of methods for evaluating information through analytical tool
in research project (Quinlan, Babin and Griffin, 2019). Researcher has used the
qualitative method through thematic data analysis for finding the results. It useful for
scholar to accomplish objective of research in proper manner. Sampling: It is based on the principle that mainly used to choose particular members in
research project. It is slightly representing the population of interest and researcher have
been obtained the sample taken from large number of populations. In this research
project, the size of sample is 30.
 Ethical considerations: It can be specified the one of important part of research where it
maintain the policies where participants not be harming the relevant data or information
regarding case study. It always respects for dignity of members and give proper
prioritised effectively.

negative ways towards statement where pay based inequality exits between female and males
within same credentials at workplace. It can be determined that 10 respondents strongly agreed, 4

agree, 10 strongly disagree and 6 disagree. Each respondent gives their own opinion and view
point about the pay-based inequalities. It depends on the situation because many workplaces
have treated as equally both female and male and give priority on the basis of works. In this way,

gender discrimination in the workplace. It can be identified that 9 respondents strongly agreed, 7
agree, 7 strongly disagree and 7 disagree. Gender based discrimination is the most common issue
within organization which comes in different forms but it generally means that employees are
treated in differently because of gender. In this way, it easily analysed that every respondent
shares their own response towards the gender-based inequality. Sometimes, it directly affecting
on the employee in both physically as well as mentally.

where it provides the insight between employees working hour on the basis of gender. It always
