b. Produce an illustrated report that assesses how strategies for skills
development and lifelong learning may enable career development for you
and your team colleagues.
Introduction
Motivating the employees and retaining top talents are the two major focus for every
organization (Dong et al. 2017). Employees are highly motivated by training and
developmental strategies that organizations design for their employees. Studies show that
organizational training has large scale impact on their motivation and retention.
Organizations employ different skills development and lifelong learning strategies to engage
employees in their jobs. It helps them to not only motivate employees but also to create a
high performance organization (Lussier and Hendon 2017). This report illustrates the
different strategies for career development and their impact on employee motivation and
retention.
Analysis
Strategies for self-development and lifelong learning
Developing personal development plan
The most effective strategy for self-development and lifelong learning is to prepare a
personal developmental plan. The personal developmental plan includes short and long term
goals prepared from skills audit and personal SWOT analysis, skill gaps, action plan and
requires resource and timeline for achieving them (Whetten and Cameron 2016). It contains
