Chapter 1: Methodology
3.1 Research Process
It is a step by step process which is followed by the researcher to conduct the
investigation is scientific manner (Fisher and Bloomfield, 2019). Each and every step in the
research process is interlinked with one another. There are eight step of research process
which are as follow:
a) Identifying the research problem
b) Formulating the hypothesis, aim and objective
c) Written literature review
d) Preparing research design
e) Deciding research sample
f) Collecting data
g) Analysing and evaluating data
h) Written the report
3.2 Research Approach
Research approach is planned process which facilities in testing theories and
hypothesise. They are classified into two parts which are deductive and inductive approach.
In the current research investigation, researcher has chosen deductive approach (Coombes
and Ryder, 2019). The main benefit to use this approach is it will evaluate existing theories.
The theories will be tested on the basis of quantitative information so that aim and objective
can be acquired in valid and reliable manner.

3.3 Research Strategy
Research strategy is a step by step plan which assist in gathering information as per
the though and idea possess by an individual. There are various kind of research strategy such
as survey, experimental research, action research, case study, focused group and many more
(Shields, 2019). As per the existing investigation, researcher has selected survey research
strategy. Using this strategy helps the investigator to gather large data from wider sample.
This also collect numerical information in less time and cost.
3.4 Research Methodology and Tools
Research methodology is the systematic process which identify, analyses and interpret
data as per the study. This section helps the investigator to know what type of data is needed
and which philosophy, approach, data collection method is used for gathering and analysing
information (Thomas, 2021). The reader uses this section to evaluate the validity of the
overall data so that they can rely on research.
Research philosophy: Research philosophy is the set of principle and belief used for
collecting type of information they want. Positivism and interpretivism are the two research
philosophies. In the current research, positivism philosophy is used by the investigator. The
main reason for this is it assist in gathering and analysing objective information so that
current trend and pattern can be known (VanKooten, 2019).
Research choice: Quantitative and qualitative are the two research choice that can be
used by the investigator. Quantitative is based on numerical information and qualitative is
based on non-numerical data. In the present investigation Quantitative information is used by
the researcher to gather data in figures and values. The main advantage that can be obtained
by using this is more valid information can be attained and analysing numerical information
is quite easier (Iovino and Tsitsianis, 2020).
Time horizon: It is the time framework which is used to know the time of investing.
Time horizon is divided into two frameworks that are cross sectional and longitudinal. In the
present investigation, researcher has chosen cross sectional time horizon. The reason is that it
will gather data as per the current situation because data is collected at single time and that
too in shorter duration.

secondary. In current research both primary and secondary data is used by the researcher.
Primary data is the fresh hand information which is gathered by respondent themselves. On
the other hand, Secondary data is the second hand information which is used in multiple
investigator in their research. The tool to collect primary data is questionnaire and for
secondary data it is books, article and online site (Sileyew, 2019).
Data analysis: Data analysis is the research tool which inspect, clean and measure
collected information. Using this technique useful information is accumulated by evaluating
raw data. frequency distribution and thematic are the two data collection tool. In the existing
investigation, researcher has selected frequency distribution method. The main advantage for
this is that it will evaluate quantitative data in easier manner. As well as it takes less time and
money to inspect the raw data. using this data is being represented in the form of charts,
tables and graphs.
Sampling: Sampling is method to select sample from population. There are two
sampling method which are probability and non-probability sampling. In current research
probability sampling is used because it will provide equal chance to get selected. Further in
that random sampling method is used. The sample size is 30 mangers from Marks and
Spencer (Fidahic and et. al, 2020).

The sample size is 30 mangers from Marks and
Spencer (Fidahic and et. al, 2020).
