INTRODUCTION
Leadership refers to the qualities of the person which enables them to influence the will
of other other employees to achieve the goals of the organisation. It is very important for the
managers of the organisation that they have effective managerial and leadership qualities which
helps them to develop and manage effective team in the organisation. There are many employees
are working in the organisation which is the most significant part of the organisation so it is
important for the managers that it motivates their employees (Rao and Frtunikj, 2018). The main
advantage of the motivation in employees is that it helps the managers of the organisation to
achieve the goals of the business effectively. This report is based on the self skills required for
the development of team in the organisation. It stated various theories and approaches to manage
the employees and also states various tools and technique so that so that the current and future
teams can be developed. It also contains self reflection that how shape my core values and ethics
to become successful leader. It is very important for the management of organisation to develop
effective framework in their organisation.

Leadership is one of the most important factor which should be present in the
organisation because it helps to manage and lead the workforce towards the achievement of
organisational goals and objectives. It is important for the success of the organisation in the
market that the managers of the organisation has effective leadership qualities so that they
effectively lead the people in the organisation because the employees are direction less. It is the
duty of the managers of the organisation to provide direction to the employees of the
organisation so that they feel comfort in workplace (Kang, Tok and Bao, 2019). There are
different theories, approaches and strategies are present which helps to lead and manage the
teams in the organisation and the brief discussion related to the same are given below:
Leadership theories
There are different theories are present in the market which helps the managers of the
organisation to effectively and manage lead the workforce in the organisation. These theories are

well examined and enables the managers to perform duties of leader in the organisation. The
brief discussion related to the same are given below:
The behavioural theory
It is one of the leading theory of leadership which is used by the many managers in their
organisation. The main concept behind this theory is that the personal environment of the people
helps them to be become effective leader instead of their natural abilities. The main factor behind
this concept is conditioning. It is related to those situation under which the leaders are more
sensitive towards the environment response. Any minor change in the environment may lead to
major changes in the leadership style and approach of the individual.
The trait theory
This theory of leadership is quite apposite to the behavioural theory it states that some
natural abilities of the person helps them to become effective leaders. This theory of leadership
states that it is not necessary for the person to have special skills or qualities to becomes effective
leaders to manage the workforce (Deng, and Jiang,2019). Only the natural capabilities of the
person helps them to become effective leader because of one ideology such as some leaders are
good listeners and communicators not all the listeners and communicators are good leader.
The transactional theory
The transactional theory is also called management theory, this theory of leadership states
that leadership is a system of reward and penalties. The main concept behind this theory is that
those employees which perform well in the organisation should be provided effective reward and
those which are not perform well in their organisation should bear penalties for their negative
performance. This theory has put more focus on the hierarchy instead of creativity in the
organisation. The level of creativity are comparatively low in this type of leadership because
only the suggestions and ideas by the top level executives are considered in this type of
leadership.
Leadership approaches
The approach of the leadership is related to the style which leaders use to manage and
lead the people in the workplace. It is essential for the managers of the organisation that they
used those style for the leadership which is favourable for the nature of business. The brief
discussion related to different leadership approach are given below:

It is related to those style of the leadership under which all the employees of the
organisation are required to follow the orders of their superiors without any questions. Under this
type of leadership all the strategies and policies are developed by the top level managers and
employees has to follow those rules and strategies (Bondas, 2018). The level of creativity and
motivation of employees are very less in this type of leadership style because no the employee
are allowed to their suggestions and ideas which reduces their morale. This type of leadership
style are not success where the top level employees does not have creative mind set. It requires
creative and analytical thinking to becomes success in this style of leadership.
Democratic style of leadership
It is one one of the most common used leadership style which is used by many
organisations in their leadership framework. Under this style of leadership all the employees of
the organisation are allowed to express their ideas and suggestions in the management. This
helps the employees of the organisation to increase their morale and motivation. The level of
creativity and motivation are very high in this type of leadership style because all 'the employees
has permission to express their innovative and creative ideas. One of the most important
disadvantage of this type of leadership is that it takes huge time to develop decision on any topic
managers have to take suggestion from many people before taking decision.
Laissez faire leadership style
It is related to those style of the leadership under which the top level managers of the
organisation provide freedom to different team to complete all the projects. They have a freedom
to take all the decision and solve the problems on their own will. The superiors only interfere in
the activity when there is any wicked problem arises which is not possible to be solve by
different team members. The main benefit of this type of leadership is that it helps the achieve
efficiency in the management because all the work and decisions of the management are taken
by the members.
Leadership strategies
One of the most important reason for success of many big organisations is their strategic
management where the business develop effective strategies for all type of business functions
before. These strategies helps the management of organisation to achieve their objectives with
great accuracy. The main benefit for the development of strategy in the organisation is that it
enables the employees of the organisation an effective direction for their activities. There are

Define and communicate vision
It is related to those strategy of the leadership under which the management of
organisation has define their mission and vision to their employees effectively. The main benefit
of this leadership strategy is that enables all the employees of the organisation to work in right
direction (Ahn, and Bong, 2019)(Anders, 2018). It is important for the management of the
organisation that they develop effective communication in their organisation so that all the
policies and strategies of the management can be understood by the employees effectively.
Encourage recognition
Under this concept of leadership, the employees of the organisation are provided
effective and attractive recognition in the workplace for the higher performances. It is important
for the management of the organisation that it develops effective employee performance
standards in their organisation so that the performance of the employee are evaluated they
provided considerable reward for that. The main benefit of this strategy of the management is
that it helps the employees of the organisation to receive respect in the workplace which
increases their motivation. It also motivates other employees of the organisation to perform high
so that they also get the recognition in the organisation.
Delegate and empower
Delegation of responsibility is one of the most important aspect of the organisation
because it helps the employees of the organisation to become self sufficient and dependent. It is
essential for the management of organisation that they delegate considerable responsibilities to
the employees of the organisation so that all the projects can be completed without any delay.
The main benefit of this type of strategy is that it makes the employees loyal towards the
organisation. All the employees of the organisation has considerable loyalty towards the
organisation.

employees are directly linked to their needs it is the duty of the managers to evaluate these needs
and then try to satisfy them so that most of the employees becomes motivated.
Rewards and recognitions
It refers to those tool of the organisation under which the management of the organisation
has provided effective and attractive rewards and recognitions to employees for their superior
performance in the organisation. It helps the employees of the organisation to motivate the
present team members and also the future team. The main benefit of this type of system is that it
helps the employees to perform better in the organisation.

I have shaped my core values in an ethical and value based system as a leader and manger of an
organisation. I really tried hard to exhibit my core values which are developed in me by
acquiring a ethical leadership behaviour. This behaviour essentially helps me in executing
leadership theories and helped me in getting success for my team. I am able to give shape to
those core values as a leader by delegating my responsibilities to subordinates. Through efficient
mentorship and training that I provided to my team members, I am able to give them authority
and responsibility so that they can grow and develop accordingly. I shaped my capabilities by
setting organisational vision which helped me in realizing goals and objectives of establishments.
I used to be a democratic leader who participate and engage with team members to make proper
utilisation of their capabilities. I used to adopt varied theories in managing my team members. I

behave and develop my core values through application of situational leadership. I belief in
acting differently according to different situations and team members. I tried to connect to my

for the organisation. This helps in boosting morale in my team members. I used to be empathise

gap in my knowledge and capabilities which is bridged by me through mentoring from senior
executives (Abbaspoor, Ashrafi and Abolfarsi, 2019). I felt myself passionate and dedicated in
attaining varied organisational goals. This helps me in motivating my employees in an efficient
way in order to drive their energy and passion towards achieving organisational objectives. I also
learned to be patient with my team members in order to help them out from any complex and
complicated issue. I understand that organisational goals can only be achieved with patience and
perseverance. I shaped my capabilities through understanding the meaning of change and also
influenced my team members to adapt those variations for organisation's well being. I also tried
to reinforce organisational values in my employees that helps them to grow and develop
strategically. I learned to shape my ethical core values in organisation through paying attention
to every single detail of employees and clients. I also tried to adopt transformational leadership
theory in my workings in order to motivate employees effectively. I tried to set an example of
my sincerity, honesty and integrity in organisational surroundings. In order to motivate others, I
belief to keep myself motivated and passionate towards attaining organisational goals. As a
transformational leader, I used to be figure out bigger picture of influencing my team members to
be more flexible in their workings.

It concludes various theories and approaches to manage the employees and also various tools
and technique so that so that the current and future teams can be developed. It also concludes self
reflection that how shape my core values and ethics to become successful leader. It is very
