Communicating to strangers
Cross cultural communication takes place when a massage is encoded in one culture and
decoded in another. Cross cultural communication is comparatively stressful than
communication between the same culture due to the lack of knowledge about the culture and
personality of the receiver. When it comes to business, communication plays a major part.
Establishing effective communication can be considered as one of the most crucial roles of
efficient managers (Tenzer et al. 2014). Effective communication is significant for the leaders
since it helps them to perform the basic functions of the management that includes organizing,
planning, leading as well as controlling. Communication plays a major role multicultural
organization. Considering the fact that a significant number of organizational issues in
multicultural companies results due to lack of communication skills between the employees and
the leaders, in order to maintain and enhance the yearly revenue, it is highly crucial for
management to eradicate communicational issue from multicultural organizations. The chief four
issues faced by employees while communicating with strangers in multicultural company are as
follows:
1. Difference in communication styles in western and eastern cultures
2. Trouble in accents and fluency
3. Difference in attitudes towards hierarchy and authority
In order to deal with the above mentioned issue, it is highly crucial to provide effective
cultural training to the employees (Tenzer and Pudelko 2015). They should be educated about
the importance of cultural diversity within the organization. Both personnel as well as

eliminate cultural discrimination.
