Swiss watch manufacturer, produce smart care. In this report importance of IT along with the
study of different information system is going to be done. Mechael porter generic strategies in
context to Smartville is going to be evaluate. Data protection acts and their core aspect is going
to asses in this report. Different roles of the information technology in context to the selected
organisation business is going to be analyse.
Relevant information systems (IS) that, in your opinion, form the core of Smartville business
Importance of IT
Information technology is type of networking system which helps to share information
and gather information from the internet medium, which involves different applications and
networking sites. Know a days that is very important for most of the personal and professional

in different country due to which they make higher use of information technology fro their
effective work management and functioning.
Types of Information system
Business organisation differ on the basis of their size and function, due to which their
needs fro information is differ from each other. So there are numbers of information system
which supports each type of organisation.
Transaction processing system (TPS)-
This is the type of IS which use under the operational system of the organisation for
gathering of all essential operational information related to the transaction. This helps to
manage the operation functions by giving the appropriate information of sell, remaining stoke
and financial transactions. This system is use to record day to day business transaction of the

processing system which can be more effective for Smartville. Such as the point of sale system,
Payroll systems, stock control system.
Management information system (MIS)-
This is another important type of information system which most essentially use
for tactical management system. Tactical managers use this system to monitor the organisation
performance status. Smartville is using this MIS in order to identify the input of the organisation
for transaction. Such as this system use the calculation of transaction information in context to
the evaluate the current performance of organisation in market place, which represent by the
evaluation of transaction information. This helps to predict future performance and needs of
improvements. Select organisation use this system to evaluate their product vale in the market
that how effectively products are influences their customers, in order to increase the production
of that product and in other hand, they use this to analyse ineffective product's which have to
reduce from higher production plan. Some examples of this system is HRM system, Budgeting
system, sales management system (Willcocks, and et. al., 2017).
Decision support system (DSS)-
This is another most important information management system as it helps to gather all
internal outputs such as the (TPS) and (MIS) information to make effective strategic
management decision. In context to the Smartville this information system is use by the senior

external Information which can be use by the senior manager, to effectively provide the solution
for change management and strategic improvement. Such as the selected organisation can use
this information commination to make effective changes on their operational techniques. Such as
the financial planing system and bank loan management system is important DSS information
system, which use all other information system together for effective decision.
Different social contexts and stakeholder perspectives of IT
Social context of information technology is that public and community life management
method's are changed due to the developing information technology. Some community accepted
all these changes and some are not accepting that and influence IT development and application.
That is having both positive and negative impact on society, such as it helps in online working
and in other hand this can cause cybercrime. In context to the organisation stakeholders

prospective, such as according to the owner, user and public, information technology is
important as it helps them into easy life, sale and satisfaction. They illustrate that both
requirement and deliverable information should with process with effective and safe way (Zhu,
and et. al., 2018).
Michael Porter business strategies
This is the most effective and useful business strategy for each and every type of the
business organisation, develop by the Michael Porters in 1985, this involve there major
approaches of generic strategies. Those three approaches are cost leadership, differentiation and
focus. One of the strategy, focus is further divided into two parts, such as the cost focus and
differentiation focus. Smartville is using generic differentiation strategy with in the objective of
offering unique cars into the market. Below is the brief analysis of porters generic strategies.
Cost leadership- This is the first strategy which involves the some specific instruction
and strategy of gaining competitive advantages. This involves the way of developing edges,
which helps to get higher sale by taking that away from the competitors. So basically this
involves the strategy of increasing profit by reducing the product cost, by charging the average
price lower then the competitor. This strategy is not good for selected organisation as there is
the chances of organisation value reduction as car is something different from normal product
and should not be compromised from quality (Zhang, and et. al., 2018).
Differentiation- This strategy most effective and best which involves the development
and serving of good and effective quality products, which should be different from others in
terms of features and facility. Such as Smartville is using this strategy with their joint ventures,
in order to make their value and sale in the market by offering the best and unique quality cars to
their customers (Jevtić,and Jevtić, 2017). Organisation is offering different and innovative smart
cars to their customers, with the prove of higher quality. For effective implementation of this
strategy organisation need to conduct the proper market research for new techniques and they
have to plan innovatively. Selected organisation is doing same. Organisation should posses the
ability of deliver best quality products, along with all these factors organisation also have to be
effective in their sale and marketing strategies.
Focus strategy- This involve the focus of organisation towards the specific target market
and their requirement in order to get more success in cost and differentiation strategies. Such as
the cost focus and differentiation focus strategy explaining below.
Document Page
Cost focus – This is the type of strategy through which organisation focus on specific
market area and offer them lower prices product to the customers of that specific market. This
save the loss of organisation in relation to the other market where the product value is different
and helps to effectively meet the objectives.
Differentiation focus – This is similar to differentiation, but different in one term that is
the market and customers needs specification. This involves the instruction for effective business
management, according to which organisation have to focus on their target market and analyse
their specific need in context to which organisation can offer the best and customers needs
specific innovative products. This strategy is can be best for Smartville because this can help
them to increase their customer loyalty and relationship then helps to more effectively satisfy the
customers (Apollonio, , and et. al., 2018).
Relationship between IT and process change within organisations
Information technology is the key mode of information gathering and transfer through
which organisation can share and garb essential information. Organisation make changes and
modification on their process on the basis of changing needs and performance of organisation in
market, which collected by the help of information technology. It helps the organisation to
analyse the need for change with organisation process. Such as organisation information system
use to manage internal and external information with in the aid of information technology,
according to which organisation modify their operational practices (Avgerou, and et. al., 2017).
Data protection act and three core aspect of that act
Data protection is the process of safeguarding important information from cheaters and
illegally activities. There are some legal polices and legislation of different country which pay
very important role in data protection and help selected organisation to effectively manage their
information system of different country (Team, ., 2020).
Data protection act 1998- This act was developed by the parliament of United kingdom
in order to protect the personal data stored on the computers and on paper filing system. This act
developed some rules by EU such as the provision on the protection, movement and processing

of the data. This hives rights to the individual for access to their information of their own which

which their should be limitation in the inappropriate use of public data. Each and every data
processing activities should be fair and lawful, which can resist the harm of any person. GDPR
sets the limitation for irrelevant storage of data. With in the help of this regulation Smartville us

loss and copy. This helps the organisation to use common information of market and competitors
which is allowed to share and use. Due to which organisation get success in effective Decision
support system (DSS). GDPR was adapted by the data protection act and some specific factors
consider under the this data protection act and regulation is personal data, processing,
controller, processor, data subject, data breach (Borgesius, and Poort, 2017).
Data Empowerment and Protection Architecture- This an Indian set of data protection
regulation, which involves the rules and guidelines for the national individuals that they should
control over the decision that how their information is can be use or shared. This was developed
to encourage peoples for improved and safe lives. Smartville is also working in the India due to
which this is the most important legislation which helps then to protect and shear their data
according to the safety rules and regulation of India.
DEPA is impotent and effective for Smartville information systematic and IT
application. Because it empower the people to securely and seamlessly access and share their

every piece of data transfer and access. This involves the application of innovative digital
standard such as APIs, which help in all these data processing activities.
Core aspect of that act
Fair and lawful processing- This is the first important principle or aspect of data
