In an organisation the people work either in groups
or individually so that the company goals and
objectives can be efficiently achieved. Their
behaviour and performance in the organisation
affects the company profits and also the ability of
the company to serve its customers the goods and
services which they need and want which will help
it in building the brand image of the company. The
coordination, cooperation and collaboration of all
the group members is important so that they can
work together in order to achieve the company
goals on time. This can be achieved by managing
the actions of the people in the group and directing
them appropriately so that they can all work
together and the conflicts among them can be
significantly reduced. The topic taken for the poster
is group behaviour and team development within
organisations and the company taken is Tesco plc
which is a British multinational retailer of groceries
and general merchandise.
Forming : It is the first and foremost step of
developing a team in which the team is formed by
selecting the people who have similar set of skills,
talents, interests, goals and belong to similar
educational and technological backgrounds which will
help the team in working together and achieving the
company goals.
Storming: At this level the team members start to give
their suggestions, thoughts and ideas regarding how the
team goals can be achieved. Also at this level the
unproductive activities are identified which restricts the
company in achieving its goals. Strong leadership style
is needed at this stage so that the conflicts can be
managed.
Norming: At this stage the team members’
performance is observed and motivation is given to
them so that they can effectively achieve team targets.
Performing: At this stage the team members become
matured enough and they can well cooperate among
themselves and can management of the team members
can be efficiently done. The team members at this stage
become committed to achieving the desired team goals.
Adjourning: This is the final stage where the goals and
objectives are achieved as per plan and the final
documentation of performance and outcomes are done.
Employees are the main assets of the company and
their behaviour in the organisation impacts the
company profitability, performance and its
competitiveness in the market. The people of the
company can either work in group or individually so
that the work gets completed on time and within the
estimated budget. While working in team the
opinions and ideas regarding the achievement of the
company goals might clash which lead to conflicts
and disputes among team members which can be

This theory is of the belief that every individual possess
a different pattern of behaviours that influences the
person's behaviour with the team members and also
affects the progress of team in achieving team goals on
time which is also defined as the team role. The
tendency to behave, contribute and interrelate with
others in the team is known as the team role. Different

Coordinators: These people help in bringing order in the
team so that all the team members can coordinate with each
other and help in achieving team goals.
Team member: These members support the team in a
diplomatic manner and are important to achieve team
objectives efficiently.
Resource investigator: These people helps in building
relations and developing contacts which helps the company in

Plant: These people are responsible for coming up with new
